  • I never thought about price matching with bunnings http://www.bunnings.com.au/default_price-guarantee.aspx

    • -3

Bunnings will always find a reason not to match the price… ie. colour is different.

      • +1

The bunnings model & colour is the same. I had no problems price matching today.

        • good for you…

the few times i've seen people trying to price match they've always had an excuse…

          different colour
we don't price match with that store
we need to verify stock first but they're closed…

        • +6

yep, he must have got lucky.

Most of the models are marked "S" for Supercheap, and "B" for Bunnings at the end of the model number. The bunnings ones have a shorter hose, and they use that as an excuse not to price match most of the time. Shifty as.

        • Not in this case. Bunnings one has the same length hose as the SuperCheap Auto one. There is no "B" at the end of the model number.

Agree with JV for once :-) Bunnings are difficult to price match with… have found the same thing… colour or some other petty reason to get out of it. As tagged above Bunnings = shifty as with price matching.
        Good with refunds etc.

Bunnings = shifty as with price matching

It hasn't been my experience… I just showed them the catalogue with the product advertised and the guy on the register matched the price & bet it by 10%

        • Yup. bunnings here have been good too. just tell them a price, they call up and price match.

        • Bunnings here treats anyone who tries to pricematch like a criminal. We did use their price match policy on one of those big industrial size fans once, and boy were they dirty about it.

Overheard a woman once on her way out of the store telling someone she had mentioned that she could get an item at a particular store for cheaper than their price. Their response - "Off you go, then!"

Another time there was a guy blasting the daylights out of the poor 15 year old at the checkout because the powers that be had refused a pricematch ….. on and on, at the top of his lungs. Poor girl!

  • Maybe if OP can post his receipt, then Bunnings won't have a leg to stand on.

Original deal updated to include receipt.

      • +3

maybe we can take that receipt in and get them to price match there own price match, getting yet a further 10% off each time till they are forced to just give them away……. ok yea yea i know i know….. cant a man dream?

How do these compare to the 1450psi Scorpion model on sale at Masters for $65 at the moment?
(I asked this in the Scorpion thread too, but interested in any other thoughts now that this offer is on the front page)

    • Looking at the same myself but the idea of a plastic pump compared with a metal one in the scorpion is off putting. Even with the karcher name behind it.

    • I Got the one from masters today, works good! I have used other pressure hoses and this one is good for the price!

the amazon nifslik deal was da bomb.

I have one of these, and I have to say, I was pretty underwhelmed by its performance.

A well designed nozzle on a hose comes pretty close to the pressure this can produce.

  • just wondering what happens to the dust particles from tap water?

will it scratch the paint on your car if u decide to use this?

    • +1

not sure, but i always wanted one of these for the wheels… it's worth buying a pressure cleaner just for doing wheels/rims.

  • i tried pressure cleaning brake dust off rims it doesnt work quite well
    (dural hungry jacks car wash)

i found wiping the wheel with a tissue or even paper work better lol

    • +1

what about if you let the soap stay on the rim for abit then high pressure hose it? that's what I do and it works great

      • I don't even use soap, I've got a basic makita one from their last sale. Gets all the brake dust off. Leaves maybe a thin layer of it on, but you can't see it. Rim still looks clean just not brand new.

Excellent for cleaning the inside of the rim where your hands won't fit through the spokes!

        • I've always wanted a machine that's good at rim jobs!

    • good luck wiping an entire set of tires with tissues. lol.

    • If you have a euro car you will want to use a dedicated wheel cleaner product with your high pressure hose. Spray the product on, let it dwell for about a minute, and hose off. Should get rid of about 90% of brake dust.

Nothing beats using a microfibre mitt with shampoo though. If you have the time just do that and rinse. Then you don't even need the high pressure hose.

  • Personally, if we weren't under water restrictions I wouldn't even bother with a high pressure hose for washing the car. I prefer to rinse the car with water straight from the tap as it sheets right off making the drying process much faster.

Setting up the high pressure system is also time consuming.

However it is good if you want to do other things like clean dirt off the driveway or outdoor tiles.

    • i am under the impression that grey water (if available in your estate) is not part of those restrictions?

  • Update.
Bunnings price now $78.90 (cheeky burgers), undercutting Supercheap by 10c.
They haven't changed the display price, but that is the new checkout price - I just tried to pricematch. Makes it $74.95 if you use ING Orange card now.

    • Deal updated

    • I just did it and realized that they have updated the price.

So no price match today I should have did it yesterday.

    • This is a common practice for Bunnings once they are alerted to a cheaper price elsewhere.

      • +3

Great job Bunnings ! Love it. Perhaps should change the slogan to: "If you happen to find a lower price, we'll beat it by 10 CENTS !" XD

  • Rubbish! it's $89 at Bunnings

    • It'll scan at $78.90

    • If it really is $89 at Bunnings, then ask them to price match SuperCheap Auto. You'll get it for $71.10

      • After they scanned it said $78.90

        • so if the scanned price and shelf price is different, does he get it for free?

        • its only when the shelf price is lower than scanned price, this is the other way around.

  • Still waiting for the Nilfisk C120 PAD to come down in price at Amazon UK after last deal. Missed out on that one.
