With airflow in the case across the slot it will be fine. Might get a bit warm in a tight squeeze like ps5/small form factor pc.
Is it so hard to buy 3rd party one? I’d buy.
I have one of these from the last deal, idling at 40c atm with not great airflow in my case.
I'm after a budget 2TB to extend the memory of my PS5. Any advices? What to look for? And descent deals right?
i think this is the best one available:
https://www.bpctech.com.au/product/lmnares002t-hnnng-lexar-a…Thanks mate! The one you mentioned or:
- Lexar NM790 1TB for $90: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/225645680934 (I'm not sure if it's PS5 compatible)
- SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB for $189: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09QVD9V7R/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3from a comment i read ares is the same as nm790.
sk hynix is $54 more but is better.@follow: None of these come with a built-in heatsink?
@mc7alazoun: no. probably worth waiting for one with a heatsink.
missed out on the 980 pro earlier :P
This was posted earlier today at ozbargain and price was $143.16. i have been looking for something for my PS5. Bought this one a few hours ago. Unfortunately the price is back to $299. There might be more deals like that in coming days.

Yeah missed that one!
4TB for $143? That's crazy. Was it a pricing error?
"This" = Samsung Electronics 980 PRO SSD with Heatsink 2TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe M.2 Internal Solid State Hard Drive, Heat Control, Max Speed, PS5 Compatible, MZ-V8P2T0CW, Black https://amzn.asia/d/0wpT1bz
Ahhh, that makes more sense. I thought "this" = the OP deal posted.
My motherboards heatsink was removed by the person I bought it off. Would this run really hot without a heatsink ??
