Wow
Wow.. must be funded by the airlines
That makes no sense, airlines want less weight on the plane to reduce fuel usage.
Yea pass, 7 kg allowance on most airlines and these mobs think 2.7 kg hand luggage is decent weights. That’s 37% of allowance just on freaking luggage. Lol
Is this any good?
55 inch is very heavy.
They all are for their respective sizes
That's what she s…
I don’t think this makes sense as people don’t really describe penises as “heavy”.
55 inch flat screen TV nowaday is quite light. Most people buy bigger sizes…
55cm for carry on?
Likely too heavy for majority of cases
Assuming base 7kg carry on limit, you'll end up hitting more than half way with a laptop, powerbank, headphones (case) very easily.
Might be okay for a same day but not overnight if you add in change of clothes etc.
Heavy useless bags
Bought an AT from this deal in 2016. Has been bullet-proof, turquoise colour makes it easy to spot on the carousell. Made such a difference that I would be reluctant to buy another piece of black luggage, tbh
Hmm ABS plastic. Probably worth waiting for boxing day sales.
These are way too heavy. A big problem for air travel and if not you need to be a weight lifter to lug it about.
I don't mind the flylite range from Strandbags. The carryon is super light very durable.
Comparable price but Strandbags is better quality.
3kg, it's on very heavy side for a soft shell case.
I have one of these. I find it tips over very easily depending which way the wheels are pointed.
Is this just as good?

these are apparently okay from what people on here have said in the past. very heavy but the value is unquestionable at that price.
Heavy? That are acrually relatively light. However, i can get the equivalent size Antler at sinilar price, so im going with that. Juat got a 55cm antler at 119.
gotta disagree, tbh.
so these american touristers are as follows…
55cm - 2.7kg
68cm - 3.6kg
78cm - 4.8kg
the amazon basics:
55cm - 3.33kg
68cm - 4.25kg
78cm - 5.34kg
😬
@lachlantula: Wait a min… i think you are agreeing with me based on those numbers you provided.
@jecec: nah, my point is that the amazon's are heavy. even heavier than these bags posted by op which themselves are pretty hefty, i think.
in contrast, here's the american tourister airconic, which while pricier is probably worth the extra cash in my opinion:
55cm - 2kg
67cm - 2.7kg
77cm - 3.2kg
all these sizes are somehow lighter than even the smallest of the amazons! these suitcases also use polypropylene, which is better quality than that of abs from my understanding.
@lachlantula: Fair enough. They are light. A different category.
Personally, and everyone's requirements differ, the slight weight difference don't matter for me, especially for the larger sizes.
no locks
You honestly think locks on luggage do anything?
They’re a deterrent to opportunistic thieves, it’s clearly not an eufy fingerprint deadbolt
Too heavy, next
Seeing as this is OzBargain, any deals on Australian Tourist?
Bogan tourist didn't make the branding cut.
funpolice is on your case it seems,
I upvoted, good bit 👍
Thanks dad
Medium size seems fine with the weight:
68cm - 3.6kg
Comparable with other brands right?
very heavy compared to some other ones including AT's airconic range but those are, of course, pricier
I see. What is average weight would you expect for that medium size now?
the similarly sized airconic is 2.7kg for context. a lot of other suitcases in this price bracket are also 3.5kg+.
@lachlantula: Thanks a lot. Appreciate the info.
Got a 55cm one over a decade ago for $30 in Absolut promotion
Nice. But limited my use to land based travel.
I only use carryon on my many travels.
Because of weight (3kg - this is 2.7kg), was never used as carryon on planes due to weight limits. (Use a backpack weighing ~600g, for month long overseas trips)
Wish they made 75cm
Fits better in the car
There are a lot of comments about them being too heavy. Are those comments just for the 55cm one? I'm looking at the 78cm one, and it doesn't seem that heavy compared to other products of similar size.
Hard case usual a little bit more heavy, I prefer soft
Way too heavy!!
My best purchase a few months ago was the Kmart ANKO brand soft case travel luggage. Amazing value at $79 for such a large suitcase. Only 2.7kg. Travelled overseas for about 3-4 weeks, nil issues. Zero scratch marks (6-7 different plane trips) and still looks brand new.
Pretty impressed with the quality.
