I have this. Be aware that having all 3 cameras running at the same time will limit you to 30fps 1440p front + 30 fps for both rear and internal cameras.

I personally unplug the interior cam and run it in 2 channel mode at 1440p 60fps and 1080p 30fps rear.

  • Anyone know how this compares to an A129 Plus Duo? (Ignoring the interior cam)

This is $100 more after discount

I prefer this A139 due to the voice prompts. If I don't hear "2 channel recording started", then I know there's an issue. I also have the A129 Plus Duo in like 3 other cars, but if there's an issue, I don't realise until I actually look at the unit and realise it's not recording.

Because I install it behind the rear view mirror and therefore hidden from view, the voice prompts are a lot more useful for me.

The A139 Pro uses a much better sensor, and it's industry-leading. Also on sale: https://viofo.com/dash-cam/293-viofo-a139-pro-3ch-first-real…

    • I'm always lost if it's the Duo or the Pro we should be getting.

      • +2

Duo, the Pro with 4k is too much for the unit

        • +1

          Yeah ok thank you.
I'll burn that into my brain. Basically Duo is the ducks nuts.
          Pro - avoid.
And any idea how good price gets for the Duo? I'll do a search but just curious if anyone knows the all time low price as a guide of what to aim for.

        • What? No. The Pro uses the Starvis2 sensor which is much better for night time recording. No more overexposed number plates. It is worth it for that feature alone.

@navman: oh it is better, but many reports of overheating and slow frame rates.
OzBargain of choice is the A129 Plus Duo. have a look at past deals on here for more details

            • @Headless: There's no Duo version for the a139 though. Unless that's the same as the non-Pro version

But also locked to 30fps, surely you’d want 60fps when it comes to moving objects? I can’t decide

      • +2

I have the A129 Pro Duo and A129 Plus Duo. I have Plus Duo in at least 3 cars and I prefer it due to the 60fps 1440p. 4k 30fps isn't better.

  • What’s the difference between this site and Viofo AU?

    • Money at the end of the day, and warranty

  • I thought it was lime myself, allthough im more of a Melon kind of person

  • Just curious but why would you need the interior camera?

    • +2

      Fake taxi
      .

    • +2

I have it in case I want to record myself driving and want to ensure i have evidence to refute any camera or officer that tries to fine me if they think I'm using my phone or don't have my seatbelt plugged in. etc.

    • +2

To show insurance company that one was on the phone at the time of accident

    • I don't have an interior camera but apart from recording myself, it could capture some vision out the side windows in case there is something that was missed by the front or rear cameras - thinking road rage or lane merger.

  • is this one 60fps up front better than the more expensive Pro 30fps ?

    • yes, higher chance of catching the plate as the person zooms away

  • If I just wanted the front cam, would A119 Mini 2 with 2k 60fps @ $165.41 be a better deal than A129 Plus with 2k 60fps @ $168.79 given the A119 Mini 2 has the latest sensor, 5 Ghz Wifi and about $3 cheaper?
