Can someone ELI5 purely for interests sake?

      Play Switch with non-switch controllers.

  • Works with Xbox controllers too.

The old adapter is the one that updated Xbox controllers don't work with. They don't support BLE, which the new Xbox controller firmware switched to.

  • Thanks OP, Adapter is done, now have to look for an 8bitDo arcade stick.

  • My Xbox controller keeps randomly disconnecting from my PC. Anyone used one of these on Windows and know if it fixes that issue?

    • Are you on Bluetooth? Just get the Microsoft USB wireless adaptor.

      • The Microsoft USB wireless adaptor is over three times the price of this, though. Unless you have a link that I haven't seen?

    • Generally it's just interference, BT can be very picky. I have found these to be slightly better than typical windows BT, more so if you can plug it in closer to where your controller is.

The Xbox wireless adapter is another step up, and acts like Wi-Fi with better range and throughput (it supports audio and multiple controllers). RRP is $30 if you can find stock.

If you can move your PC or antennas around to get line of site this should also fix BT connection issues.

  • I had this but BT connection isn't consistent when it comes to latency/input lag. I had a better experience with the Xbox wireless 2.4ghz usb adapter.
