    "Wired" = deal breaker

For the price, absolutely. 20/30 odd for a player 2 remote I'd be fine with. Seems absurd to pay a hundo for a third party corded remote.

While it’s not for me, it has its niche and is likely of very high quality.

Hall effect sticks, micro switch buttons, and wired means the lowest latency possible. Possibly quite cheap for a pro-tier device.

Note I have not read any reviews.

Wired? May as well just buy the official Xbox controller that's wireless for $69.95 that it goes to that price most of the time.

I would agree but for the price the hall effect thumbsticks are a good pro. I mainly use mine for PC, if it was for my Xbox I would definitely be more inclined to get wireless.

I got one of them 8bitdo wired ones for 19 the other week (including 10 buck Perks) at JB and made sure they grabbed me the newer one with the hall effect sticks.

Between it, and a couple of the emulator handhelds I have with HE sticks, really can't see the fuss tbh

        • They're mainly handy for durability and preventing stick drift, otherwise not a big deal.

          • @JokerMate: To be fair, yeah, I assume it's something you wouldn't notice in the short term, more in a few years.

My XSX remote from launch day's left stick drags a little bit forward if you push and leave it forward, but it's never impacted a game and ironically has come in handy when I want to AFK Fortnite or something for some XP when ducking out to the shop or whatever, and it's juuuuust enough movement it doesn't give you the kick.

I think going forward it's obviously better to have than not have, but for this price, I'd be sticking exclusively with the first party offerings. And that's as someone who has a few wired remotes around the house.

Wired for that price? Why not original wireless controller?

BTW, my Xbox wireless controller left stick start drifting, even I didn't play it a lot, tried all the methods still a little bit drifting.

Lol, the irony in your comment.

Maybe you should invest in a controller like this that doesn't get stick drift lol

    • You can open it up and clean it up and see if it helps. Also try the calibration tool.

If they don't work, you can always get one of the drift fix 'boards' from aliexpress for a couple of bucks and solder them and you should be good to go for many years.

Did like few hours of research, the 2 best controllers for PC are

8BitDo Ultimate 3-mode for Xbox and GameSir Cyclone 2 for a good price <$120 AUD

I ended up going with 8BitDo Ultimate 3-Mode, I know GameSir Cyclone 2 has more features. From what I read and watched people say, 8BitDo is better quality, and if you only playing on PC, that's the way to go.

Just to note the 3-Mode controller is also wired for Xbox, PC can be wireless

And I believe most third party controllers are wired on Xbox because Xbox uses a proprietary wireless connection for its controllers, most likely a third party will need to pony up some money in order to make it wireless, which most likely won't do, so you'll see many wired for Xbox

  • I can vouch for this controller.
Amazing quality, feels premium - the micro switches feel nice and the form factor feels comfy.
