Maybe at the time, I was against the OP. But it actually is a thing. The "kids" just fill about 1/3 and above, so you have to get a large to get a good amount.

Other half recently got the app, she is copping bad deals (sml big mac meal for $9). I have had the app for years and I get ok deals, I had the same deal as OP except mine was $7.
I wonder if the store selected for ordering could have anything to do with it too?

Should've bought KFC Australia shares. It's gone up from $7 at the start of this year to $12 now, a 70%+ gain. Investors know the price hikes will bring in big profit increases.

Regular price of a small cheeseburger meal is $8.25 now. A cheeseburger alone costs $4.25. For this sort of food it's an absolute rip.

The funny thing is, a cheeseburger happy meal is around 5.75 and even with a cheeseburger at 4.25, Macca's app deals are crap in general.
I found a Cheeseburger in the boot of a Morris Minor at pick-apart still in Styrofoam container!!! Stuck that puppy in microwave, thats lunch and dinner sorted out.

I've been getting better deals at Hungry Jacks and KFC lately, such as the $2 Hungry Jacks coffees. Also the last 2 times I went for the 500 bonus points in the McDonald's app I didn't get the points because of a continuing bug in their app, and that really cheesed me off.
Update. The new deal on the account is ‘$6.50 Big Mac’. How is that even a deal? How is the regular price even anywhere near $6.50?
I checked out of interest, I got $8 for a small Big Mac Meal (save $4.60). Big Mac alone is $7.15
The offers have gone to rubbish. I think going avoid for a long time.
Maybe time to upgrade what you eat. Love yourself a little.
