How does it compare to BG3?
Trying to hold off until it's on proper sale 😅
I haven't played Divinity:OS2 in many years. I don't believe it's as well acted or voiced as BG3 however the gameplay is the same and really fun. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in turn-based strategy.
thank you! sounds like this'll tide me over for a bit… 👀
Play DOS2 first imo, the dialogue is different but still spoken but combat is still challenging and fun. I highly rate it
okay, cool! thanks for the reply 🥳
@mish.kebab: No problem! Enjoy it if you do decide to pull the trigger!
Shoulda called it the "Divinitive" edition!
Divine woulda been fine ;)
I actually preferred one to 2, the story felt tighter and the game had a cleaner difficulty ramp for people not used to turn based combat.
Steam verison bit better than gog one due to steam workshop and the mods you can easily add with it. Multi does work cross platform
Mods VS DRM free
I don't really notice the benefit of DRM free on my gog copy, would prefer the steam. But sure might be better for some without internet or something.
What an absolutely epic day! Just snagged both BG3 and Divinity: Original Sin 2 on Steam this morning!
How mucn was bg3?
A$ 80.95
You've got a solid 100+hours of gaming ahead of you
Larian Studios salutes you!
There is a 'bundle' with both Divinity Original Sin games for $23.60 : https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/14169/Divinity_Origina…
Unfortunately it isn't a bundle that discounts you for already owning some of it's games. I have Original Sin 1.
If you want to go old-school the original 3 Divine Divinity games are $4.29 (90% off): https://store.steampowered.com/sub/17798/ . I wonder what percentage of people playing the newer Larian games have played the old ones? Likewise, lots of people played the Witcher 3, but I wonder how many played Witcher 1 (which used the Neverwinter Nights engine)?
Funnily, Witcher 1 is the only one I've truly played of the series, twice (Enhanced Edition, so not too many issues/bugs). I re-played 1 at some point with the intention to get into 2 and couldn't.. May skip 2 and try 3, given it's more console friendly and I already own it on both PC/PS4 (with ps5 upgrade).
The bundle deal is a great price, are the stories intertwined at all? (is it worth playing 1 then 2?) The only real turn based games I enjoy/play are JRPGs (FFs, Chained Echoes, eventually Sea of Stars). Curious if I'll enjoy this.
Absolutely loving this game so far
Same here! I picked it up a month or so ago but still working my way through Fort Joy…
Fantastic game, so much content for the price. Really fun with friends
