Showing as out of stock in many stores but most near me still have stock and with a quick check can see stock scattered across the country. Might be a price error so be quick. I’m going first thing to grab one for my family and perhaps some to gift.

but would you eat it with fox,
would you eat it in a box?
Thanks OP, early bird catches the ham :)
I think these are reduced due to short date - my local had them, all with best before 21/12/23. Good to use now or freeze I guess?
That could be the case for sure.
Managed to grab a couple from Ringwood, 3134. Expiry 14/1/24
All the stock at mine were use by the 21/12/23 so into the freezer it goes to defrost in the fridge on the 24/12 and hope no one gets sick for Christmas lunch
Grabbed one on Monday, cut up for lunches and unfortunately it was chewy garbage :(
Well it is basically Spam.
That's totally different. Soft garbage.
When it comes to Woolworths, you are destined to get rubbish
let me guess you're one of those who wont eat corn beef as well.
@[Deactivated]: Corned beef is delicious
OoS. Even though I can find stores with stock available Woolies wont let me add to cart. Reckon they have cottoned on to the price error.
I don't think it's a price error - and I don't think it's that much of a bargain. I got one at Maroochydore but expiry is late December and quality & taste is average at best.
Prob close to expiry date on clearance.
Thanks OP, a few left at my local with $10 tag and 30/12 expiry. Worth a try for a tenner.
TRIED YET?
NOT YET, BUT I THINK I’VE ACTUALLY HAD THESE BEFORE NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT. OK FOR $10 BUT NOT PREMIUM.
Thanks Op. Mmmm….Short dated ham. I’ll be finishing the ham while in the ambulance to the hospital just like Homer Simpson. 😃
Saw these in store. Purely for sandwiches and won't work as a Christmas roast ham
I bought one the other day, it's the same as plain old processed sandwich ham that I'd usually buy for $10-12kg at IGA.
Woolies at it with the deceptive marketing again. Not a real deal and only in a dystopian Zimbabwe of the future is it actually worth $35.
There's probably a law against this sort of advertising, but woolies too big to have to follow pesky laws like that.
What advertising?? What law stops people discussing bargains??
It's just a listed price of a short dated clearance item, posted by a menber! Not advertising!I wasn't talking about the bargain discussion, what made you think I was? I was talking about Woolies deceptive marketing.
Was it really ever for sale at $35, or was that just a ruse so when it gets discounted to $10 it's an amazing deal?
Fake markups to reduce to normal prices as a special is an illegal sales tactic.
"It is illegal for a business to engage in false and misleading conduct when advertising goods and services.
Conduct includes:
advertisements
promotions
quotations
statements
any representations made by a person.Businesses could be in breach of the Australian Consumer Law if they create an overall misleading impression about:
price
value
quality of goods or services."Woolies has a long history of breaking these laws, it's not "news". The only thing that's apparent is they don't see court anywhere near as often as they should for it.
I wasn't talking about the bargain discussion, what made you think I was?
There's probably a law against this sort of advertising
Again, what advertising??
Couldn't find any advertising you seem to refer to, just store clearance price markdown & Deal here.Provide a link to the advertising you were referring to which is against ACL.
Without that - there's no case! And you wasted your venting against Woolworths. But how much would you expect to pay for ham that expires (BBD) as soon as tomorrow?
Selling at full price would bring a lot of complaints about deceptive practice!😜Totally an illogicalerror!
@INFIDEL: Why would a discussion be advertising?
The advertising was linked right at the top of the page, no need for me to repost.
Just like when I bought it it was advertised as a special, not clearance.
I expect multibillion dollar companies not to use deceptive advertising, and more people to complain about this… not about maybe their ham was or wasn't marked clearance when close to BBD.
Why would a discussion be advertising?
That's what I was asking you!!
You provided no proof of any advertising!!
The link you cite is to the clearance price at some stores! If you need to search a store's system for a price - that's not advertising!
You provided no proof original price was not as stated.
You provided no proof other than your dislike of Woolworths & large business.
I've taken up ACL complaints with plenty of documentary evidence, so know from experience…
The ACCC would reject your complaint as a waste of their time. It's simply not worth the effort & resources necessary for no likely outcome. At most an apology. But you are free to lodge your complaint under ACL.
I've taken court action against a large business. Was expensive for the business. But settled out of court to avoid adverse publicity & loss of reputation for the business.
Was offered a quick settlement (5 min into arbitration) for 100% of my claim, in return for a NDA. The staff member of the business who had caused the problem was crying uncontrollably. She & the head office apologised to me.
That's about as good as could be expected.Legally represented myself. Legal advice was I would likely lose - there was no precedent. So there was no one else to take on the case.
It's not an easy process, took 18 months. I was supported by a Government Department as was seen in the public interest. The outcome has provided a framework for similar cases.
I wouldn't do it again!
Again, Totally an illogicalerror!
What an appropriate username😂@INFIDEL: The advertising was linked at the top of the page, literally marked as a "special"… oh my.
You seem to think that because individuals are futile against predatory deceptive advertising, labelling, marketing and promotions that it is all okay. Should probably get a job working for woolworths, they'd love it that you don't see them breaking the law as an issue.
"Oh… you said advertising and this is a forum."
"But I was talking about the advertising linked, and how it is predatory"
"No, but you didn't say it like I wanted you to, but still I am going to run a parallel conversation with you about what you actually meant, but not actually address the issue you were talking about. Let's play semantics and I'll make like I'm smart, but actually you know that I'm unable to read context and I just keep digging myself deeper"
"Oh okay. You win this one internet"@illogicalerror: Not even seeing what you claim. But that's not advertising.
You have not even provided a valid basis for a complaint under ACL! Or under what section…
Get your facts straight. Then lodge your complaint with the ACCC & get their opinion!
Absolutely pointless discussion as you are unlikely to listen to your own advice to complain… Otherwise you would have done that already…
So why should anyone else complain??Seems you don't understand the difference between your theoretical approach to complaining & the practicality of actually complaining to a Government authority with limited resources to mainly take on only the most important cases (if that).
Especially lodging a complaint in the holiday season (with more limited resources like staff), about a relatively minor issue with stock that would be long be sold out if they ever investigated.
Life is obviously easier if you've never dealt with actually complaining like I have done with far more serious issues.
You seem to lack a true understanding of the ACL. That won't help your complaint.
With so many more important issues, I wouldn't bother the ACCC over this!To investigate, the ACCC requires multiple complaints before investigating. And requires those to be clear & valid complaints outlining why the issue is in contravention of the ACL.
Even then, the result may only be a communication with Woolies…
Tell us the outcome of your actual complaint!!
Until then, bye!
Many hams are made from imported pork however this one, might be not the best ham, but it’s made from Australian pork and preservatives free.
yum
Grabbed a couple from Inglewood WA this morning. Expiry date 13 Jan 2024. ..None on display but they grabbed them from 'out the back' when I asked. Seemed to be plenty available at the time. Couldn't find any sandwich ham in the deli at this price so reasonably happy with my purchase.
went first thing this morning when Woolies opened.
None on display. Very few staff i could ask about this item.
Looked everywhere.Either they had not put it out yet or had zero stock (Strathfield). Went this afternoon after work, couldnt find a paper copy of catalogue to double check the item price. Still no stock of the item.
Did anyone find places which didnt seem to stock it at all?The one I went to had them but use by tomorrow and also discounted further to $5.49. Could have been good to slice up and freeze for toasties or fried rice but it wasn’t worth the bother for me. Most Syd stores were oos when I looked.
Thanks OP. Its looks leave a lot to be desired but it tastes nice. Cover it in glaze and bake it for a while, she’ll be right.
Now I just need to find some green eggs….
