sighs really want to buy, my last deebot just died randomly…

    • +1

      did you claim warranty?

      • over one year - aldi.

        • +5

Why would warranty expire after 1 year? Manufacture warranties are meaningless, Australian consumer law has you covered, they will fix or replace it free of charge or they will be breaking the law.

          • +2

@noise36: so what do i do, quote consumer law at them? and they have to fix it?

            • +3

@BaeSuzy: Yes exactly! I did this exact thing a couple of weeks ago with a Samsung tablet that had stopped charging out of warranty. Service center came back with a quote and I noted ACL and they should ask Samsung to cover the cost which is exactly what happened.

              • @noise36: Wouldn’t you have to argue with the reasonable life expectancy of the item with the service centre? But I know how poor Samsung warranty is in general.

            • +2

@BaeSuzy: This is exactly what I did when my robot Vac died after 18 months. Australian consumer law is that it should last for a reasonable amount of time based on product type and cost.

Ie. if you pay $100 for a shitty robot vac then you can’t really expect it to last much longer than a year because it’s clearly junk.

If you spend $500 on a robot vac then it’s reasonable to expect it lasts at least a few years, and you can argue as much with them. If they fail to agree, you can then escalate to consumer affairs. Often just the threat of this is enough to push a reasonable request over the line.

              Tomato sauce: https://consumer.gov.au/sites/consumer/files/inline-files/AC…

          • @noise36: Isnt the consumer law 1 year warranty though?

            • @zorodluffy: No. I would expect a robot vacuum to work without major fault for at least 3-5 years. At some point its reasonable to expect the battery will need replacing but that's it.

              • -1

@noise36: So consumer law is 3 years?

                • +2

@zorodluffy: There is no set time period. It depends on the type of product and how much you paid for it.

@zorodluffy: dude google Australian Consumer Law

Thoughts on best value robot vacuum / mop for around this price? Anyone done any research recently?

    • +2

I bought a lubelulu recently for 209 delivered plus around 130 for the auto empty dock.
Absolutely love it, super impressed with how it cleans, battery life and it rarely ever gets stuck.

+1 to this, bang for buck this has been amazing.

      • how often do you have to fill the water and empty the dust bin since it doesnt have a docking station for water and dust bin?

also it only has 3000pa compared to others which are 5000-6000+

  • Anyone have this and compared the vacuum and mopping functions to the Roborock S50? I'd love an auto-empty feature, but there's no dock upgrade for the S50.

  • This any good with mopping and obstacle avoidance?

  • I bought the yeedi vac pro 2.. can I ship it back and buy this instead lol.

    • +1

I think Amazon can return no question asked if you have Prime.

I am wondering is the robot itself the same as yeedi vac pro 2 or not?

This one said "VISUAL AND LASER FUSION NAVIGATION"

      • The vac pro 2 has an oscillating mop. This is "sonic"…

        • What is the difference?

          • +10

            @RenVilo: your windscreen wipers oscillate.
your wife's favourite toy is "sonic"

    • I'll buy it off you if you're in VIC :)

      • Haha ok cool. Let me try and review this after the beers and see how it goes against the pro 2

    • +6

Did you actually try to buy it ?? Once you add the 10% coupon it comes down to $599

    • +11

You negged it because you don't know how to redeem the extra 10% which clearly mentioned in description?

  • +2

This seems ridiculously cheap for the feature set???? I dont think anything with auto mopping empty and fill has ever been below $1k?

  • +2

Doesn't have LIDAR, is that a problem?

    • +1

Nope it will 3D map the floor still

  • Seems like the software and obstacle detection is better with the Roborock units .. still for the feature set thats a pretty decent price

Ecovacs has the worst app and mapping software I've used. Maps constantly resetting and app freezing

  • I dont think navigation will be as good as a the roborock lidar ones. Vslam is not as good as lidar. Thats why all self driving cars use lidar.

Also watched a review and the maps it creates are atrocious.

  • Thanks op, finally pulled the trigger. Was very tempted during black Friday sale at 750, good that I waited one more month to get it for 540 (with 10% off gc I stocked long time ago). Understand there will be a lot of draw backs with this machine, but come on, 600 with auto mop wash and dry!
Also checked Taobao, it is selling for about 2500 rmb, so very close to 540 Aud. Not like Roborock I need to pay double or even triple of the price to get the same specs.

  • 50% and I will look into it as my cored and battery ones are still free of use :)

  • I wish my Yeezy's did this.

  • I can't see how to access the $100 discount coupon?

    • Its expired cuz
