Needed a Xmas present for the misses and was thinking about the Dyson hair dryer for $399 on ebay misses loved her GHD so ended up with a product she was familiar with and cheaper. Not the cheapest seen on Ozbargin $199 back in May at Charli and kate but still cheaper then the Dyson.

The 2200 watt*** brushless motor and Aeroprecis™ technology combines internal aerodynamic design with the contoured nozzle, allow for a more precise airflow and temperature distribution, giving you enhanced control for the best results.

Advanced ionic technology reduces frizz and fly-aways for smooth results with 30% more shine**. Suitable for all hair types, including textured hair.

Suitable for all hair types, including textured hair.

Some reviews suggest quicker drying time than Dyson had me sold.

  • Now Misso, I asked Instagram what hair dryer every woman wants for Christmas..

Misso: you got me a Dys- !

    Oh…

    (I kid I kid)

  • Also look at the Shark line.

If her GHD aint broke, dont replace it, unless its with something like the Dyson.

If it was broke, get the Dyson.

There is still time to refund. Dew it

    Happy wife, happy life!

I just asked wifey, she said she wouldn't mind a GHD, even though she has a Dyson. Guess I don't know hairdryers that well. Must be a good brand

  • Hope you don't have a gf, wife who cares more about a brand than actual value.

If so, you should refund her.

  • We have both, get a Dyson.

  • Funny how people keep saying get a Dyson but no one mention it is almost double the price.

I have this for almost a year now when my wife drop my 30+ year old Philips touch in the basin. My only complaint is it's a bit heavy for a domestic hair dryer, but again it's a professional salon product. All hair salon dryer is about the same weight

For an alternative I will strongly recommend the Panasonic one. I use it in several occassion in Japan hotel and onsen. It is as good as the GHD but lighter. In fact if I had my experience with Panasonic, I am likely pick it over GHD.

    • Do you have an iPhone? Its about double the price of a Pixel

      • +1

Yes I do and I have Androids too. You are comparing Apple and oranges.

Paying double the price for a device that its sole purpose is to dry you hair is unjustified in my opinion.

        • I disagree. If you think about it, its the exact same comparison lol

Most people use a phone for calls, text, photos, videos, sosial media, games, browsing, gps, netflix etc. Why buy the overpriced iPhone when the much cheaper pixes can handle all these use cases equally well( and often much much better to be honest)

          • @hoosier daddy: No it's not, Apple (and Samsung) has to provide 5 years software support for their customer and with store support in major cities, that cost money. Then there is the design of the whole iPhone system makes it more secure, consider most of our phones now have banking, digital ID, welfare data,…etc I would not trust any of those cheap PRC dumping crap for such purposes.

Do you need software update for a hair dryer? Does it need good security? No! all that it does is dry your hair. You may want to argue that Dyson is quicker but that is also not true as there was head to head comparison that the two took about the same time .

            • @syswong: Lol Google provides 7 years, and is cheaper. Its the same comparison, just accept it mate haha

Also, Pixel phones (Google owns Pixel, did you know?) is just as good, if not better, as Samsung and Apple when it comes to security for the average consumer (which covers 99% of people) in my hypothesis.

Did you know that Google recently identified a vulnerability in Apple's software? I guess not. Not so secure after all lol

It's the same comparison. Accept it

              • @hoosier daddy: Cheaper but not half the price. Tell me there is a equal of iPhone 15 pro from Google that is half the price? I love to get one.

All modeen phone has vulnerability, it's how quick you fix it. Then there is still the customer services issue, which is why I don't buy Google pixel, when I can walk into a store and fix my iPhone and Galaxy

Still my point is not paying two time the price for something does exactly the same. I can write an essay on what iPhone can do and Android can't. Then that it's not something you are interested isn't it? You just want to keep BSing about how an over priced hair dryer is worth its money….

                • @syswong: lol, I dare you to write an essay on what an iPhone can do, that a Pixel can't. Go on then. Given you don't even own one, and never have, I'll gladly wait for what far fetched google results you find. You will be using Google, right??

The top end Pixel is on sale every other week, as little as just over $1200 for the 256GB, cheaper for the 128GB if you are so inclined. Just use the search in the top right, plenty examples.

The entry level (top end) iPhone starts at $2200, for the comparable 256GB. It's hardly ever below $2100.

Funny how people keep defending Apple but don't realise it is almost double the price, for the same thing…

I'm eagerly waiting on your essay of "things the iPhone can do that no other phone can do". Lets hope they make it into a blockbuster. GO!

PS It's still the same comparison lol

We have two Panasonic too, NA45 and a NA55 dual voltage model for travelling. Dyson is still way better. Dyson>Panasonic>GHD
