Just spotted this one.
Been looking to add some more around the house and this is the cheapest I've seen them for a while.
Even black friday were 255ish so thought it worth posting up here.

You've basically got two main choices:
wired (powered) cameras (typically using PoE) that can run 24/7 and you'd typically run a NVR (network video recorder) locally to store, manage & retrieve the video
wireless (battery) cameras that record based on events (motion detection, some with extras like AI detections (humans, vehicles, pets, etc) plus specified detection zones, etc) - typically videos either go to a local unit (e.g. eufy's Homebase) and/or to the cloud (a subscription service) and you use a phone app (and/or web site) to view the videos. Most can also do live streaming when you want (but uses power obviously) - the batteries typically offer anywhere between a month to a years worth of use before charging required
Some newer wireless/battery models also support being powered/charged by solar panels (either external or integrated in the top of the camera itself) which in theory keeps the camera charged forever
No 24/7 recording, only event recording. No subscription needed. Saves to the 16GB Homebase 2 (if you get it in a pack with the HB2). Live stream and event recording available. Apparently 16GB will get you 3 months of video if it records 20 clips for 30secs each day.
You need this for 24/7: https://myeufy.com.au/eufy-security-eufycam-e330-add-on-cameā¦
Have a set of 4 of these plus HB3 and the E340 floodlight cam.
Having 24/7 recording is a game changer. Cross camera tracking is great too - automatically stitches video of people together from multiple cameras.
What kind of plug is at the end of these?
There's a pic showing the mounting half way down the page linked above.
Wondering any reasons why you'd choose this (2K) eufy cam over say the eufy SoloCam C210 (which is also 2K with no inbuilt solar charging, no spotlight, etc) which you can get for much less - e.g. JB HiFi for $119 (I got one two days ago for $102 plus $68 for the external eufy solar panel). The SoloCam can be used "standalone" or joined to a HomeBase (perhaps it only supports HomeBase 3 and not HomeBase 2?)
Only 3 months battery life v up to a year with this one
OK - tho the C210 + solar panel I got was still $50 less with in theory never needing to take the camera down to recharge
Yes, I have home base 2 and wondering if both the solocam and e330 are only compatible with home base 3? Does anyone know? Has anyone tried with Homebase 2?
Pretty sure the E330 only works with HB3, but the solocam doesn't need a HB. Solocan only has 3 months battery life
Thanks. Yeah I noticed it says solocam can work alone or with HB3.
Great price! I got one for slightly more at JB: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/820059
I have these around my house. The front one which look into the street is constantly firing off due to movement. Battery dies in about 4 months. My backyard and side they are still going strong even after 1 year without charging. The quality of the video is pretty good as you can zoom in too. The wireless range with the home base 2 is pretty good.
Reolink Go PT Plus 4G LTE with solar panel is now around 285-300ish on ebay , AliX, and amazon after coupons/discount from regular $389 price.
I am not sure, If 1 Wi-fi add on camera is for $225, then 4G LTE camera with solar panel at that price is good. I think, better to wait for further discounts, perhaps a good boxing day sale.not sure you are comparing like for like here? This Eufy is ideally an addon for those that already have a set most probably with the HB2. The Reolink would be targeted for those with 0 cams.
I am kind of new to cameras, from a quick look up they run off a battery - do they record 24/7?
How do you get the footage? or is it for streaming only?
