  • This would be a great way to save on your upcoming iPad Mini purchase (although you could also buy a Wish Gift Card for the same price and buy your iPad Mini at Dick Smith).

    • +2

Yeah, unlike the other gift cards (Coles, Woolies) this is a limited time offer. Wonder if it's a pilot to see whether they will continue with it in 2013, or if it's just JB being desperate in the harsh retail environment and running a limited deal to try close off the year in a better position.

Hope it's the former, but doubt it.

    • With Woolworths selling DS though, isn't there the risk that the wish cards will not be accepted there?

      • Probably. They've stopped taking Everyday Rewards card already, so there's always the risk. But then again at least you can still use it at any other Woolies retailer, including Big W. Given the current iPad is cheapest at Big W I'd say the risk is small.

        • +2

Might want to note that Big W and Target always have a bit of a delay for iPad stock after launch.

  • yeah, would be great if this was a year round like the wish cards..
will probably be buying a new tv next year, and this will be great for an extra $100 off…

  • Any idea if there is any discount on Coles Group and Myer gift cards ? Thanks !!

    • only coles and kmart via the entertainment book I think.

    • Yeah, as wreckedandjealous says, the Coles gift cards are limited to only Coles Supermarkets, and they also have Coles Liquor and KMart gift cards which can only be used at their respective stores. Kinda rubbish compared to the Woolworths Gift Card which can be used at any of their retail chains.

    • i think infiniterewards has myer …not sure how u join tho

      • Of course, another alternative is to stake out Card Limbo. They tend to get a few discounted Myer cards in every other month, plus they offer MoneyBackCo cashback. In fact, there's a whole bunch of Myer cards with 10% off there right now (12% after MBC cashback)… but they're pure Myer, not Coles Myer Group.

        Infinite Rewards…
$199/year membership fee! Either that, or else if your employer is paying it instead as part of work perks…

  • Good discount.

Have to add that JB seem to have changed their gift card policy and wont give cash back as change when there is a small amount left. For example, I had a $100 card, spent about $98, and instead of being given a couple of coins back they gave me a new card with about $1.70 on it. Seems they know most people wont bother keeping a card with a couple of bucks on it, so they make a bit extra that way. A minor thing, but it irritated me

    • +2

well the opposite example could be exploited. ie.

      buy $100 giftcard for $95
      spend $1 , get $99 change
      $4 profit

      • +1

Still, JB and Bunnings are the only two groups who never expire gift cards. They have a public policy of giving replacement cards when the originals run out of date.

"And yes, it's not much, but better than zero (plus it works for big ticket items that normally don't get discounted) so if you don't like it STFU."

whats with the attitude ? making up for a small ?

    • +4

LOL I've just been conditioned to OzBargainers having a whinge whenever a deal isn't ZOMG AWESOMESAUCE! Sorry if my cynicism caused any offence.

Saw this. Thought about posting, but then I saw how much JB gift cards go for on ebay… 5% is not enough for the effort.

    • +1

Have you bought JB gift cards…or any other gift cards on ebay?
      I find that a bit risky :/

  • Great deal cause it's not normally discounted, that being said if you have the Sydney Book swap thread is here:
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/67499

    P.S I want Din Tai Fung :D

"They don't sell direct. This particular link is for a charity called "Bloom" which supports victims of trafficking in Cambodia. Feel free to find your own if you have any objections."

Almost deserves a plus just for the good cause.

  • +6

+ve for telling the haters to STFU

  • hmmmm…any clues to the best (cheapest of course :/) place to get entertainment cards…
ie. any deals for acquiring an entertainment card?

    • oops *book I meant

  • http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/78894 - But it's not the most popular deal. eBay has them from time to time I think. Otherwise they're only through charities, etc.

  • I got an email reminder today with a competition for buyers… might have been extended?
