Hey Ozbargainer, this is the first time in my life that I saw a pink hammer, and I guess it's on sales due to it's unique colour. I am thinking it may be a nice Xmas gift for my daughter and get her to help me with some handy work at home.

Credit to @WasBargain found another deal that would perfectly match and pairs with the pink hammer:

My Mrs has purchased a bunch of pink tools since we started house renos lol…there's a market for them.

      • +19

when was the last time she used any of them?

        • +8

maybe on the back of flognuts head

        • That is not the main purpose of buying these tools.

      • +3

@flognuts ,Are you still alive or a ghost?

        • +6

Sorry was busy doing Reno's with My Mrs. Pink hammer.

@Flognuts: These euphemisms are getting out of control.

          • @Flognuts: Don't mess around with the missus
Otherwise that new pink hammer may make your username a reality!

      I don't hate it I'm just confused.

I'll see if I can make it more simple. It's a pink hammer.

      • +3

Yeah, but is it left-handed or right-handed?? details are important!

    • +1

Why confused? Some people like pink tools.

I'm sure my wife would love this. She's regularly doing jobs in the garden while I'm at work, such as putting up or taking down trellises, and she's often leaving my tools out in the yard when she's done. Giving her a pink hammer of her own isn't a bad idea at all.

And my Mum used to be constantly fixing fences on the farm when I was a kid (particularly when Dad was away at site for work). She'd have loved a pink hammer (and some pink fencing pliers).

It's not exactly an unheard-of concept for women to enjoy building stuff, to do jobs around the farm, or to spend a lot of time in the garden. Plus, I know plenty of guys who would think a pink hammer is just fabulous.

Is Al Borland one of those "guys"?

Tim told me his mom uses one as a toothpick.

      • +1

it's presumed in this post only females appreciate a pink hammer. surely in 2023, we are well advanced into the concept of postmodern sexual identity that a colour is no longer gender specific.

        • +2

          Sounds made up.

      • Yes pink is my favourite colour thank you, it's just strange to see a pink hammer.

  • +8

Would buy this as xmas gift for my wife. I'm sure she will appreciate it.

I bought this for my daughter because she will hate it :) She bought her first house 6 months ago and has been doing all the renovations herself (Hubby isn't that handy, hopefully he is good at other business). She has hung her own doors, installed overlay wooden flooring, installed security cameras, painted the walls, changed bathroom fittings.

    • +2

When you say you hope he good at other business do you mean you hope he is satisfying your daughter sexually? Do you often think about your daughters sex life?

      • +4

I just want her to be happy :)

        • +6

Can't hammer a nail, can hammer your daughter.

        • I'm confused cause they are married right.

But you don't know a lot about the husband.

Any case. Where did she get those skills flooring id tough

          • +5

@Mokr: I know the guy pretty well. But there a few taboo areas I prefer not to ask about.
I would like to take credit for my daughters handyman skills. But truth is, she is pretty good at anything she puts her mind to. The flooring surprised me, one day she was talking about it, a week later she asked me to bring my compressor and nail gun over to help her put the skirting boards on. She had ripped the carpet up, levelled the floor, installed underlay and floorboards. I couldn't believe it. She said she worked out how to do it from youtube. The job looked pretty decent.

            • +1

@Zaddo: Good on her! My dad was no handyman. Self-taught myself using YouTube. I always check a video before tackling an unfamiliar DIY job.

We have a friend who has us in stitches about just how bad her husband is at household tasks. We have often thought he must be fantastic in the sack for her to keep him.

      • Is being bad at household tasks a common reason for breaking up a relationship?

        • Ya have to be getting something out of a relationship to keep it going.

          • @try2bhelpful: So receiving (emotional) love is not enough for a relationship? The other person must be able to repair things? What’s the purpose of children then? They are basically useless and can’t do anything for many many years

            • +1

@illusion99: Lighten up mate. You guys take stuff so seriously. It was just the source of humorous speculation.

Frankly we bypassed having the children so I’m not the one to ask about their purpose in a household.

        • +1

as long as he got the money for the cleaner, gardener, nanny, they wont care what he does. but if she has to do the work instead of hiring someone else to do the "chores" I predict the relationship won't last long.

          • @[Deactivated]: Is that because society still has definitions for what a man should be able to do vs a what woman should be able to do?

If the wife cannot cook then the relationship will also break up?

            • +1

@illusion99: It largely depends on what each person expects and what a household task is. In my definition it is associated with all tasks in a household not just repairing stuff. Male and female tasks is, basically, bunkum. I know plenty of couples where the women is better at repairing stuff than the blokes.

              • +1

@try2bhelpful: Got an Auntie and Uncle just like this. She couldn't cook for shit while he couldn't do any house repairs. My Auntie did the house repairs.

My uncle made up for it in the kitchen though.

                So it works for them.

            • @illusion99: dunno about you but the last woman ive known that can cook was my ex baby momma. everyone else since then only knows girl dinners, and I end up the chef.

cooking is not a good indicator for women today. there is a reason why in general women prefer cats over dogs…less maintenance, now apply that same choice ti everything in life.

              • -1

@[Deactivated]: Is that why you broke up? Because she couldn’t cook?

                • @illusion99: bro you need to practice some reading comprehension I said ex baby momma can cook (still broke up) meaning cooking doesn't mean nothing if a woman is going to be a good partner or not.

                  • -1

@[Deactivated]: Yes you are correct. I do need to practice. Is that what you say to your ex when she misunderstood you? You need to practice your comprension bitch. Is that why you broke up?

                    • +1

Not in Palestine. As much as Gays for Palestine want to support them, Palestine still throws gay people off roofs.

  • Pink tax in reverse. And it's not always a happy world.

I mean, why not. We as a society have arbitrarily decided that pink is a feminine/gay colour, but it's nonsense.

Yeah amazing/depressing how many people in this thread are like "perfect for the misso hyuh hyuh hyuh".

      • Yeah my comment got a downvote from someone. Feels like I'm back in primary school or something.

Many women and gay organisations/causes have chosen pink as their colour and flag.

      • -1

And China has chosen red as its flag. Does that mean I should panic about anything on that part of the electromagnetic spectrum too?

  • Why do I have the song “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer” being an ear worm at the moment.

Just imagining the scenario if giving someone a hammer as a present.

        • Like to give someone a hammering. Does it count?

          • @xoom: I’m not sure it is the hammering you have in mind, unless you are a masochist.
