I went from Jabra Elite 75t to AirPods Pro (2nd gen) USB-C just recently thanks to the Black Friday sales.
I used the Jabras for a year and a half at the gym. Treadmill running as cardio and your standard strength training stuff. Noise cancellation was decent to block out the annoying gym music.
Having recently switched, the noise cancellation is slightly better and the UX miles ahead (I'm on iPhone). For example to get transparency mode in the Jabras you have to press a button on the left earbud for around a second then the annoying robot lady says "hear through" and then you hear others. On the AirPods you simply start talking and it goes into transparency mode. Similarly battery percentage on the AirPods is displayed right on your phone either on a widget or a pop up or in the AirPods settings. I always had to guess with the Jabras and the case and got caught out at the gym a couple times when they went flat (see earlier point about annoying gym music).
I dunno if the latest Jabras do all this or if there's app or whatever but the AirPods don't need an app at all so there's another plus there. All that being said, I paid a good price for them. At $360 for this deal I would more than likely not switch as last year I paid $117 for the Jabras and they still work perfectly fine.
Thank you for coming to my 10 min long YouTube video Tedtalk.
Haha thanks for the detailed write up.
I'm looking at getting these for my partner for Xmas. Her main use is in the gym as she currently uses over head Sony headphones but the earpads get a bit sweaty in QLD.
I thought the Jabras would have been better than airpods because of their water resistance rating.
Shes an iPhone and apple watch user so I'm torn what would be best for her.
Thanks for the information
I'm an iPhone and Apple Watch user too and while it's nice to complete the set, I wouldn't do it for $359. Unless she's also listening to music outside of the gym, stick with the cheaper Jabras. For comparison I bought the AirPods on Black Friday for $261 which is still more than twice the Jabra 75t Actives and they're definitely not twice as good. Maybe 1.5-2x.
@Vavoom: Perfect thanks for your help.
Il stick with the Jabras for her. Can get the 7 actives for around $130
Or airpods gen 2 for around $160
bought Jabra Elite 7 active on clearance of $149 from OW. serious QA issue.
first pair, left earbud not working- dead.
swap another pair, you can hear step sound like pulse sound when you are walking and running regardless outdoor or in the GYM.
swap again, case not charging.
refund from OWdid try Sony MX5, fitted with all different ear tips, it kept falling out of ear when walking or jogging. however, it fits well to other family members.
end up go for Bose QC II when it is on sale.
Trying now to price match at jb
$338 at HN
How? $399 listed on website
My mistake I think it was the older model without USB-C. It was in stock earlier, but looks to be sold out now
How is this a deal when 3rd gen air pods with mag safe charger is $289 from Apple AU ? is 2nd gen > 3rd Gen ?

Price is back to $399 / expired, mods I can't report again.
These any good for the gym
Was looking at Jabra Elite 7 Active instead of airpods
