The United Cup 2023/24

Returns this summer!
Want to spend your summer holidays watching the worlds’ top-ranked tennis players compete? From 29 December to 7 January, the world's best players will play for country in the United Cup for a second time, with the unique and unifying mixed-teams event set to light up the Australian summer.

Showcasing equality at the highest level of the sport, the worlds’ top-ranked players will line up side-by-side at the Ken Rosewall arena in Sydney and RAC Arena in Perth.

Eighteen countries will contest the second edition with each city to host nine teams; three more than 2023. Each team will comprise up to three men and up to three women.

Countries are drawn into six groups of three countries and will compete in a round robin format.

New for 2024 – each tie will be determined in one session and will include one men’s singles and one women’s singles match, followed by one mixed doubles match.

As well as national pride, countries are playing for their share of a $10 million prize pool, up to 500 ranking points, and the United Cup itself.

Be part of sporting history this summer and claim your complimentary tickets.

The attendance last year was woeful, not really too surprised tbh.

May have depended on the time and who was playing? Anyway it was the first edition, people still getting used to it. I saw Rafa in a sold out house last year and it was great.

    • +2

They've changed the format up a bit this year so it is top player vs top player for men and women. Last year had a lot of blow outs and mismatches due to the second male/female player being very low ranked compared to the top player. Perth IMO has a better field than Sydney at group stages this year. Hopefully ticket sales pick up in general.

    • Was it last year that they left the roof open on several 38C temperature days?

  • +2

I guess that happens sometimes with inaugural events. Great opportunity to see some top players though!

    • +3

The Hopman Cup was essentially this just under a different name and that fell over due to poor attendance, this is more of the same just rebadged and marketed.

    any for sydney?

    • +2

None as yet but will post if I see them come up!

I am looking for Sydney ones too. It was great last year. Quiet affair but it was good that it wasn't overwhelming.

i actually paid $70 a ticket for Sydney this year and would like to attend to more

        • I saw promotion email for this year a couple of months ago. I held out hoping they would release some free ones of the earlier matches. 70 bucks I think the promotion was buy 1 ticket get another free? That would be ok for later matches. Kid and I are casual players so we go for the experience, not not die hard fans hence it would not be worthwhile for me to buy.

          • @hippo2s: i didnt get any offers so i paid RRP for 3 tickets to go with mates, since AO final tickets start at $2k lol which i wont be able to afford

They just share Sydney tickets - I just posted it!

    • Yep they just shared then - I have posted it!

      • Dang it…missed it

      • Saw 5 dollar tickets come up today with Promotix. Got 4x

GB vs USA looks like a great game

Shame it doesn't apply to the Serbian matches

  • first time booking, just cant book the 10am Jan 1 match, and says the unique code doesnt work? Or you can only book it in 16 days?

    • booked the 10am 31st game, worked fine.

    • It's a 2-step process and the Ticktek part is a bit clunky but it definitely works. Just gotta make sure you put your code in the passfield and click unlock tickets. Code doesnt work in the promo field in cart!

    booked. thanks OP for sharing.
    Key points
    - complete Step1 (using link in the post). Costs $5 per ticket, max you can buy is 4.
    - complete Step2 using the 'Step2' link immediately check these if you facing issue - redemption instructions. Should check out for $0.
    - select 'promotional tickets' from the dropdown in the 'your basket' section to avoid admin/handling fees.
    - once both above are completed, you will get the tickets in email.
    - (optional) download ticketek app and add to your mobile wallet for easy use.

    • It's really helpful! Thank you.

  • Thanks OP! Got these last as well. Not a huge tennis fan really but its great to watch live at RAC Arena.

This deal was finicky but it does deliver. Some sessions are "General Admission" meaning your ticket is as good as 90% of the people attending that event. While others have you seated in cheaper seats. I got a pair of tickets for a session of each kind (one seated and one general admission).

I'm curious about sun - I know in the past they've played with the roof closed. And for AusOpen I spend a lot of time doing calculations on sun position. But for $5/ticket I decided to chance this one kind of expecting that you might be able to move to different positions if necessary.

For those travelling from interstate, Perth does not have daylight savings - like a sensible normal city.

  • Do you have to pay $20 first? I got to the confirm and pay screen after clicking on Book now and entering my details.

Nup. You need to buy the deal. Which gives you a promo code. That you need to enter in the Ticketek password field which is shown when you visit Ticketek from the instructions page. I couldn't find that password field when visiting Ticketek normally. The seats will be added for you and you will have some seating options but not open slate.

If you've previously added seats or if seats are mis-added, you may be asked to pay for your complimentary tickets and other additional seats. Simply remove the additional seats.

There's a chance your session could be sold-out and SFF claims if no seats are left - no refunds. Realistically if there's not a single seat - in any session - available to you I can't see how they could defend not refunding your coupon. That said, more likely people may buy the coupon and then only realise a day before it's not the ticket and be out-of-luck.

And, in fairness, the reason they are selling these sessions is that they can't fill them. So I think fortune will favour the brave here.

    • There is no delivery fee either so the $5/ticket (i.e. $10 or $20 total) should be the final amount you pay.

The roof is normally open for Tennis at the RAC Arena.

The GOAT (Joker) would trash all of them including Fed(al)s one by one a month later for the 25th.

  • Are there any deals for the Brisbane International? It seems they also hiked up some of their prices (tickets for night session that used to be $69 are now $89) and the majority of tickets available to purchase are all 'restricted view'.

  • See ya guys on Sunday Lol

Why is it still letting me reserve tickets?
It asks for payment first so I'm a little hesitant, are there still tickets left?
