25% off Points on Selected Gift Cards (TCN, JB, Bunnings, TGG, EB Games, Woolworths and More) @ Qantas Market Place

290

Excellent deal unless you want to save up your points to redeem/upgrade flights. FAQ: What Are Points Worth?.
Best to redeem digital instead of physical GCs as you get them quicker and don't cost 600 points for delivery.

TCN GCs include digital prepaid Mastercard and physical Eftpos card besides the usual Home, Teen, Him, Her, Kids, Baby, Active etc GCs.

Discount applies when using points only and ends 11:59pm (AEDT) 25 December 2023 unless sold out prior. Qantas may extend or withdraw this offer at any time. Conditions apply.

15,030 points for a $100 digital TCN card? 20,730 points for a $100 digital Mastercard? Still seems expensive.

      • Thank you, You have saved me spending these. That calculator is fantastic

Cheers. Glad to provide helpful info for people to decide :-)

      • That link literally says gift cards are "Bad Value" and ranks gift cards as the worst redemption below car hire, hotels and flights.

That's what I wrote in my very first line. The site was for people to make informed decision based on what they are saving up their points for.
It also shows that the point value for converting to paying typical living expenses (not car hires, flights and hotels) is on par with other rewards shopping programs (0.5 cents per point).
Many people got free Qantas points through spending at partner stores or from company paid flights but have no intention to redeem points to fly Qantas, or they usually buy flights/hotels on special from any airlines, or want to use points to help pay for their living expenses, now can stretch their spending power by another 25%.

    • For reference it used to be $800 digital TCN card for 101k points.

Expensive way to spend Qantas points.

    • +5

People can spend their points however they like.

But it's still good to point out if it's a suboptimal approach, not in the spirit of OzB

25% off is actually pretty good, especially for ppl that doesn't want/need to travel. I don't remember seeing more than 20% off gift cards often

    • Yes, that was the point I was making in my first sentence but it seems some people don't understand LOL.

    • But the points to card and points to dollar ratios have dropped a heap. Good to keep in mind, 20% off 5 years ago would have been a much better deal.

    • Or ppl dont use Qantas to travel

    • -3

I don't understand why people would actively collect Qantas points if they don't want or need to travel.

      • +2

As I said earlier, people get Qantas points for free from spending at partner stores, or from company paid flights.

Thanks OP gave it a shot with some loose point I had.

  • Received this error message while trying to buy a digital Wish card with points "Unfortunately your order could not be placed at this time, please contact us on 1300 662 859"
Anyone else getting this message or can point me in the right direction ?

    • I got to the point of payment ok, have not actually made payment so not sure what happens then.

  • I am keep getting error "Please select shipping method before proceeding to order checkout" but I am buying e-gift cards and doesn't ask for shipping method anywhere in process!

Buggy website! Anyone else getting same?

    • I tried several TCN GCs, got to the payment stage ok (before actually paying).

      • This issue happens after you press Pay Now. I'm having the same thing.

  • Apple gift cards don’t seem to be 25% off.

    Still 101,650 points for $500?

    • Interesting. It was when I looked yesterday. They must have changed their mind. Title updated.
You can buy the JB GC instead, then buy Apple GC at their store.

      • Looks like it's conflicting with their other Apple offer - everyting 15% off.

  • Does anyone know if you can transfer just a few Woolies reward points to top up the QFF points as paying cash for them is a waste.

Misread this and though it was 25% of gift cards at supermarkets. Was certainly left speechless for a bit there

  • If you have oodles of points, the discounted pixel watch ($224 at JB HiFi https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/google-pixel-watch-matte-…) comes out to ~30,000 points (+$24)

Cheaper than buying it direct in points and if you have oodles of points anyway, might be worthwhile.

YMMV. I had a TCN GC sitting in the cart for a day, now got a Qantas email with a 10% off code to entice me completing my order. I applied the code, it reduced the already discounted points another 10%! Icing on the cake!

    • Mind sharing the code?

      • It looks like a unique code, some long random alphanumeric string. Just leave your GC in your cart for at least a day.

        • Ok, thanks. Sadly, the JB offer expire tonight. Most likely need to wait for the next round then.

  • Well that's crap. Wanted to get a gift card to pay at JB Hi-fi but you can't pay with cash, only points :(
