  • I bought an old model 3 years ago. The OS is not stable. Use it as a NAS, bot a key data backup system.

    • +1

In other words, the OS 3 years ago wasn't stable. Now TOS6 is about to be released and TOS5 was already heaps better than 4.

  • 2 x nvme ? Gen 3x1 thats disappointing, but then again i dont use home based nas,s, but honestly you could build better nas yourself

    • Most of these type of nas units are the same pcie lane wise

      Gen 3x1 thats disappointing,

This has 5Gb networking at most - Gen3x1 is twice as fast as it needs to be.
Far from being disappointing, it's overkill.

  • With dual 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet ports, the NAS server supports up to 5 Gbps under Link Aggregation

A bit misleading on how LAGG works.

Edit: I see now that one of the images says that, but there's more to it than simply being 5 Gbps.

  • Bit hooked on synology now.
    How does this brand compare?

  • 2 of these and 6 netapp ds4246 what i use for network storage.

  • Is this version good for plex or other streaming with transcoding considering it has the 5095?

If you buy this NAS and leave feedback and send them proof, they will send you another 4GB of RAM. If you don't go looking on the website for the quick installation guide you would might miss the page with the info.
