  • These cl22 timetec sticks served me just fine and a whole 10 bucks cheaper: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B098TYN671?th=1

    see no point paying extra

    • I got this timetec at first, but noticed crashing, RAM diagnostics came back with issues

returned, got Zeus CL16 kit, has been running happily since. got it for $121 in Apr this year

      • What machine do you have? Most gaming laptops can’t even work with the cl16’s 1.35v.

These timetec ones worked with both of my 5900hx rigs, a 10300H lappy and amd is pretty picky about ram.

        • it's the Razer Tomahawk SFF machine, Intel (now Asus lol) NUC based gaming box. it happily runs XMP so no problem there ;)

I no longer purchase gaming laptops: I game on Xbox series X and the above with 3070, as my priorities shifted

I found that for everything I do on the go macbook air M1 is the best fit. I thought it was all fairy tales until I bought the cheapest one for laughs, and it turned out to be so good that I sold every other laptop I had as they became redundant. the only reasons to buy x86 laptops these days is either gaming or you need some app that only runs on windows (there's strong overlap between the two). and I still hate apple, so there's that

          • @shabaka: Ah ok. If its the nucs, they take the 1.35v ones just fine. pity most laptop brands seem to drop away from the higher voltage ram nowadays.
