The ZEUS SO-DIMM 3200MHz CL16 is only compatible with laptops equipped with 【XMP functions】. If your laptop does NOT support XMP, the SO-DIMM 3200MHz CL16 is only operational at a 2666MHz CL19 frequency. For any other frequencies, we recommend opting for SO-DIMM 2666MHz CL19 or 3200MHz CL22 products based on the laptop specs.

Not many laptops have support for XMP.
Double check your specs for anyone considering this

  • They work fine without xmp.
If your laptop doesn't support xmp just get the cheapest kit, these are good value

    • +1

Yeah they’ll work but at a slower speed. Better to buy a normal 3200MHz kit for better performance

XMP is one thing, Voltage is another.
My understanding may be off here, but I believe XMP is required to reach speeds over 2666MHz, The Voltage listed is the minimum tested voltage to reach those advertised speeds (which obviously requires XMP enabled). You could also run into compatibility issues with some boards even without XMP enabled, if they simply don't support 1.35V So-Dimms.

The ones I linked can reach the same speeds as the first, with a much broader range of compatibility, due to being tested as stable at 1.2V, though with slightly higher latency (20>16). If your laptop/miniPC is compatible with 1.35V and XMP, then the Zeus Kit would be the clear winner. Otherwise, for most people, the Furies (I believe) would be a better option. In any case, people should make an informed decision, based on their intended platform.

Anyone with more experience here, please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Wow fantastic price

    • Same price as a pair of same-spec SODIMMs of various name brands from any number of computer shops. $59 each. That said, no-one seems to be offering a better price.

The 32GB CL22 stick is only $108. No excuse for not having 64GB RAM in your laptop

    • My laptop is an Apple Macbook Pro. Tim Apple doesn't allow customers to upgrade RAM.

    • +1

Only needed if you’re running more than 10 chrome tabs

  • My laptop already supports 3200MHz, but I'm not sure if that's via XMP. It's a Dell G15 2021 (RTX3050/5600H).

    • +1

I'm not 100% sure, as it's not listed directly on the Dell Website, but a quick scout around would suggest you need to be looking at 1.2V So-Dimms, like the Kingston Furies I listed above.
There is a video here for the 5800H version of your laptop that should give you some good pointers.

"Write me a song to convince me that I don't need this"

    Verse 1:
Your PC is running smooth and fast,
With the memory it has, don't be so fast,
To upgrade to a dual channel stick,
It might not make much of a difference, quick.

    Chorus:
You don't need to upgrade, just trust me,
The memory you have is all you need, you'll see,
Don't spend your money on something new,
Your PC is just fine, it's all up to you.

    Verse 2:
More memory is always a plus,
But there's no need to upgrade to 32GB just,
Your applications and programs will run,
With the memory you have, it's enough, son.

    Bridge:
If you want your PC to perform like a king,
There are other upgrades you could bring,
A solid state drive or a better GPU,
These upgrades will make a difference, it's true.

    Chorus:
You don't need to upgrade, just trust me,
The memory you have is all you need, you'll see,
Don't spend your money on something new,
Your PC is just fine, it's all up to you.

    Outro:
So hold on to your money, don't you worry,
Your PC is just fine, it's in no hurry,
To upgrade the memory, it's not a need,
Just enjoy your PC, it's all you need!

  • I have a HP Victus 16 laptop I can't find any options for XMP in the bios are XMP RAM not worth getting in my case?

    • A model number would give us more to go on.

      • model no: 16-d0224TX

        • 16-d0224TX shows standard memory to be 16 GB DDR4-2933 MHz RAM (2 x 8 GB). That should mean XMP is enabled at least. It should be compatible with one of the above mentioned modules. I can't find anywhere what voltage the memory operates at though, so your best bet would be to open it up and look at the modules you have installed already.

          • @HiredGoon:

shows standard memory to be 16 GB DDR4-2933 MHz RAM (2 x 8 GB). That should mean XMP is enabled at least

Huh? It has standard memory but should be compatible with xmp? Based on?

            • @MuddyClear: Because it's 2933MHz, I believe with XMP disabled it would only run at 2666MHz.

              • @HiredGoon: ? being 2933Mhz doesn't mean XMP is enabled, memory vendors make 2933 and 3200 non-XMP sticks, and Tiger Lake recommended is 3200

              • @HiredGoon: Someone on Tom's Hardware said to check XMP go to Task Manager Performance > Memory where it will say what speed it's running at, I'm on standard memory but it's says speed is 3200MHz that means XMP is working?

                • +1

@GoldAlwaysGold: At this point I'm unsure, it's clear by what I'm seeing that I may have had a couple of wires crossed regarding XMP and speeds, so take it all with a grain of salt.

I believe your best bet would still be to open it up and see what you currently have in terms of voltage, and then aim for the lowest CL at 3200MHz that you can find cheaply at that voltage.

  • Thanks for putting the XMP info in the description

  • Will this work (at full speed) on a Intel Nuc X15 (Krakan from BPC Tech - who btw, has very bad customer service / non-response rate)?

Can't see any word of "XMP", so I will say no and it'll work at 2666MHz?
