I owned a bloody good Raco set but they don't seem to make them anymore, made in Italy, I just got the global set now.
I tried to Wusthof Classic Ikon at my mates restaurant.. it's a super knife brand.
I just feel bad if you buy something that will potentially cause you more problems. I'm not familiar with Scanpan quality. But they are a general kitchenware brand and don't specialise in blades.
@maverickjohn: I have 4 wusthof a set global, 3 scanpan. You are comparing apples with orange. That victorinox plastic handle not full tang is selling on name not worth it
@toan duong: The Victorinox is actually a pretty good knife. Anyway that's more in comparison against your Scanpan. The Stanley Rogers is a definite no go

Fluted knives (placebo or not, can't say) will reduce the adhesiveness of food on blade due to 'air' pockets. I can't verify this. But my raco was fluted and worked like a dream
Don't bother with them, Stanley Rogers are some of the worst knifes I have ever used. You are more likely to hurt yourself than cut the food with the knives
Are there any decent sets of knives with block that you would recommend to look out for? Something that’s good value for money.
The Global synergy that was on sale for black friday was great but it depends on your budget.
Also it may be better to buy a magnet clip and the knives of your choice if all you need are a good 1-3 knife set.
