10% off Tokyo Attractions and Products (Min Spend $50) @ Klook

400
DOTOKYO10

Min purchase AUD 50. Valid for AU & NZ residents only. Code is for single use only. Valid for all Tokyo products only. Not stackable with any other promotion. Code redemption valid until 16th Dec 2023, 11:59pm AEST and code usage expires 28th Feb 2024, 11:59pm AEST.

Just tested it now and seems to work on all Tokyo attractions as described including Tokyo Disneyland.

Strangely the code is currently also working on nationwide JR pass… I have a feeling your order may be cancelled but worth the shot if you're still after them after the price hike

  • If going to Japan for 2.5 weeks (Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka) what would be the best rail option? Is there one that you can use the Tokyo metro unlimited as well?

    • +1

you might find this calculator helpful.

    • not jr pass.
      its cheaper to fly mate
      I'm going:
      Tokyo
      Mt Fuji
      Nagoya
      Kyoto
      Nara
      Osaka
      Hiroshima
Back to Toyko and its costing me $300 in total for transport

      • +2

You're flying to all those places?

        • No just flying from Hiroshima back to Tokyo.
          Otherwise Mostly using local trains

    • +3

Highly recommend Kansai Thru pass for travel between Osaka, Kyoto and Nara. It can be used Non Consecutive days and can be used if going to Kansai airport as well. For Tokyo, there is Tokyo subway pass which is cheap and useful.

I basically got below passes for my trip in Japan.

Tokyo : Tokyo Subway 3 day pass
Hakone : Hakone 2 day pass
Osaka Amazing pass : Free tourist attractions entry plus transport in Osaka
Kansai Thru pass : Useful for travel between Osaka Kyoto and Nara

    • Train to Kyoto then Osaka then fly back to Tokyo. The train is just too damn convenient

I do Japan regularly for Biz. Jr rail pass, U buy for 7 days, 14 days .. whatever. Must order well in advance cause a voucher is express mailed to you in Oz. It's highly discounted and not available in Japan. NoU take the voucher to a Jr ticket centre in Jap and exchange for tickets nominating what dates you want as start and finish. Be prepared for a looong wait at Jr centre, absolutely a fiasco, can take 2 hours.Of course only works on Jr line but that's the majority of rail in Japan including Shinkansen. Some Oz agents discount the voucher more than others. Due diligence for you.

Thanks mate. Which sites do you recommend to buy from?

  • Of course it is a couple weeks short of my Japan trip :/ (Sakura season late March- early April)

    • +2

You can still buy tickets in advance. Code usage expiry just means the promo code will expire in February

      • What is the code redemption date then if you can use the code until 28th feb?

        • +1

I think what it means is you have to claim the 10% off voucher using the code by 16 Dec but once claimed you will be able to use the 10% off voucher any time until 18 Feb

          • @rain-e: Ah right. Thanks for explaining.

  • What do people recommend is the best way to get from Narita to Ginza?

    • +2

NEX to Tokyo and just walk.

Stayed in Ginza on a resent trip and got NEX to Narita. Easy flat walk.

    • +2

Option 1 ) Tokyo Skyliner. Takes around 40mins to reach Ueno station. Can take subway to Ginza from there.

Option 2 ) There is direct bus from airport to Tokyo station. Again need to take subway to Ginza. Bus takes close to an hour to reach.

Option 1 costs around 24 AUD. Option 2 costs around 13 AUD.

  • Could I ask please for those who have used Klook before, when you pay using credit card using cards that DO charge international transaction fee, will purchases to Klook attract these fees? Otherwise, I'll be forced to use my 28degrees.

    • +1

I just checked my credit card statement and Klook booking for a Kansai thru pass earlier this year and I wasn't charged any international transaction fees (my credit card usually attracts international transaction fees). The transaction says Klook Melbourne AU so I'm assuming they process the transaction here in Melbourne.

      • Yes. If there is a word AU at the end of it, then it is processed locally. That's a good news! I want to avoid using my 28degrees for this if possible.

        Thanks!

        • No problem :)

        • Unlike LinkedIn who slugged me for an offshored processing charge and refused to help

          • @arcticmonkey: I hear you. I am trialling if Google and Apple do the same to me. Anything multinational I tend to deal with them suspiciously and use my 28 degrees.

I can tell you with Agoda, it was all processed in Singapore and I got rat-f**ked when I booked for a week accommodation. Hotel.com was safe.

  • Whichever one u find cheapest, JTB usually pretty good but check several , discounts appear at random. Keep in mind when people talk about flying in Japan, its a train to the airport, luggage restrictions, maybe checkin, security bla bla, there's at least 90 mins, then get off at the other end and another train to your destination, or just get on a bullet train at 300 kph just walk on and off. The signage etc on the railways is pretty good and the station humans are very helpful, and if you get the wrong train or miss a stop it costs nothing with the rail pass…. you just saw a bit more of Japan. Also very good food courts under most train stations !!! Price of internal flights not real cheap either

JR Rail pass is very expensive now ($527 for 7 days, $843 for 14 days) not worth it, you can buy JAL explorer pass flight tickets for much cheaper. Taking flights is also more convenient imo if you got a lot of luggage as JAL allows 2 x 23kg checked in. Going by Shinkansen you need to reserve seats and/or luggage space now if you have big luggage. Of course you can try using luggage delivery service to travel light but I’ve found it quite expensive for medium suitcases. For my next trip I’m using a mix of JAL flights and local passes, works out cheaper than JR pass and you are not limited to JR lines.
