Cheap mini-LED TVs. The U7KAU TVs are the ones with 120Hz refresh rates (not motion rate), while the U6KAU are the cheaper ones with standard 60Hz refresh rates. U7KAU also has HDMI 2.1 with 4K@144Hz but U6KAU only has HDMI 2.0.

Both 55" models have much higher contrast ratios of 4000:1 whereas the 65" have only 1300:1 for the U6 and 2000:1 for the U7, according to specs from JB.

Hisense 55" U7KAU 120Hz.

Hisense 55 Inch U6KAU.

$462 Hisense 43 Inch A7KAU 4K.

  • Never figured out the hype around mini led tvs, OLED just looks a lot better imho.

Can a decent 55' OLED be purchased for <$1000?

    • +4

the hype comes from price/performance ratio, not absolute picture quality

      • And brightness junkies like me can't deal with dim oleds

  • How many local dimming zones ?

Standard warning about Hisense sending Australia B tier panels and VIDAA OS being garbage

Check the 55UK7(AU) - overseas model 55UK7 has 500 nits but Hisense AU are too scared to even list the number in the 55UK7AU spec sheet

At this level, Hisense have nothing that competes with the TCL C845

Edit: same sh!t a year ago so take bets on Hisense releasing special "AU" models again for their 2024 range

I agree, seems TCL is better product and after I was bragging my Hisense R8 how good it was, but after 3-4 years starting to have issues like TV just switched off by itself and have to reboot by unplugged power everytime and Dolby Vision stopped working as well. Unfortunately No more Hisense for me.

    • Apparently the UK's are also nerfed again behind the US from most previous models?

I have the C835 and recommended the 75C845 to a friend who's in the market. He was about to pull the trigger during BF deals for $1845 but ended up buying the 75U7KAU for about $1095 from the Binglee flash sale (by then 75C845 was $1535 after cashback). We both went to the store we could tell the C845 was definitely better but it was hard to justify that $450 even for my own eyes spoiled by C835… not to mention my friend who currently with a 10-year-old TV.
So eventually I agree that C845 is a better option if it's just slightly pricier than the u7KAU but if it is substantially more expensive I am not sure anymore. And of course longevity might be an aspect to consider as well.

      • Comparing in store on demo mode is not the same as comparing at home though i compared both in store and there was very minimal difference. The only difference imo was the store vidaa and google but if your running a media player like shield its no different

        • +1

At least on demo you can definitely tell c845 is much brighter with vibrant colour and black is darker. But I agree with you the difference is minimal that’s why we concluded no point to spend that extra 4-500 bucks.
He uses Apple TV so the inbuilt system isn’t really an issue.

  • Doubt the dimming zones even work in game mode, very common for low end tvs to not be able to handle 120fps AND backlight algorithms with poor processors

  • Why do they insist on the Vidaa os crap? Will never consider Hisense when tcl is so much better

    • When there is was a 600 price difference between the the TCL and th Hisense 75 inch and you use nvidia shield the c845 isnt really worth the extra price tag

      • Tcl 75 c845 is $1799. Has been cheaper.
Hisense 75 u7 is about $1600 to 1700 and has much worse reviews

        • I just brought the u7 for $1295 while the c845 was $1795 and there is no official proper australian reviews but from what i could tell in store the difference was marginal at best and not worth the extra price tag

  • Really happy with my TCL c835 from a deal earlier this year , curious how others compare

  • even cheaper if you buy an ebay gift card from giftcardexchange.
