[Switch, XB1] Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen $6.79 @ Nintendo eShop | $4.69 @ Xbox

190

I am once again using the opportunity to shill one of my favourite games of all time. Matching previous lows on both consoles. Looks full price on PS but that's also been added to PS+ Extra/Premium.

Xbox Link - Expires December 1st

The critically acclaimed action-RPG Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen combines exhilarating and deep combat with the freedom to explore a huge open world. Enter the high-fantasy setting of Gransys, a land where fabled monsters such as dragons roam.

Choose between three different starter classes known as jobs, which you can further develop for a total of nine unique classes. Use the deep combat system to wield devastating skills and magics to take on fabled monsters or climb onto them for an up close and personal attack!

As the Arisen, you are joined on your adventure by followers known as Pawns. This unique gameplay system not only allows you to be joined by up to three of these AI companions and take advantage of their assistance during combat and exploration, but to exchange Pawns with friends and other players online. Each Pawn's appearance can be designed with a detailed character creation system, letting you share your customised companions with the community.

All previously released paid DLC is included, making this the ultimate version of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen.

I got excited and thought this was a physical copy for that price aha

I wish! I'd grab it in a heartbeat.

Still have my PS3 copy lying around somewhere.

No doubt this is because the release date of the sequel has finally been announced for 22nd March 2024

    • For sure, still yet to watch the full showcase but the clips I've seen from it look so good.

    • My god how did I miss that.

      It's gonna be freaking amazing

  • Sorry new to the Switch, so if this is not a physical copy, is it still full version of game that you would otherwise get on physical copy? If yes, what is the downside of this as opposed to using physical copy?

Definitely the full version, it's just like buying a game on steam or something, only difference between this and physical is that you simply won't have a physical copy of it, but the upside is it'll be downloaded on your Switch so you don't need to swap carts around to play it.

Another factor is physical has resale value and often nintendo console games hold their value quite well and can even be sold later for more than they are bought if you're lucky. While that is a factor for some, this kind of price is is extremely unlikely for a physical copy and often digital copies are far cheaper as they rule out hardware manufacturing.

      • Thanks for your response. So whilst we can keep and play physical copy as long as we need, there may be time when we have to uninstall purchased games to free up space. Do we need to re-purchase if we uninstall or is it attached to a particular switch device?

        • +1

It's attached to your Nintendo account. You can re-download any games your brought in the eshop under your profile icon in the 'Nintendo Shop'.

  • Bought this 3 years ago but still haven’t played it yet.

  • I have this on everything it launched on that I own or have owned. Let's hope they grace us with multiple save files this time.
