There's currently an attractive offer on Amazon for the Impact Sport Electronic Earmuffs, now available for just $60.01, down from the regular price of $99 during the black Friday sale.

These earmuffs are known for their advanced electronic hearing protection, amplifying ambient sounds up to a safe 82dB. This feature allows wearers to remain aware of their surroundings while being protected from harmful noise levels, making them ideal for a range of environments from shooting ranges to industrial settings.

Equipped with useful functionalities, these earmuffs include an AUX input and a 3.5mm connection cord, suitable for connecting to various audio devices. They boast a noise reduction rating (NRR) of 22db and an efficient design that includes an automatic shut-off feature after 4 hours, helping to extend battery life. If you're one to double up on hearing protection, these are useful since they can amplify people talking, helping you to hear even if you've got plugs in underneath the muff.

Designed for user comfort, the earmuffs feature a soft headband and a foldable structure for easy storage and transportation.

In short, if you're in the market for high-quality hearing protection that doesn't isolate you from your surroundings, these Howard Leight earmuffs are an absolute must-have. And at this price, they're a no-brainer. Grab them while the deal lasts!

These earmuffs are a target for counterfeit, generally I like to stay with known and reputable sellers. If you trust that eBay listing then by all means. Even Amazon got scammed with counterfeit impact sports earmuffs from a supplier in the past, but once they found out they corrected it for the people who bought them.

      • looking at the other items from the seller (pretty much all straight of from Ali Express) I think it is safe to say that this wolud not be the best choice!
Edit: looking at the delivery times I would not be surprised if they simply dropship from AE.

    Good for mowing the lawn?

    • If the noise amplification doesn't turn off from your lawnmower you can always lower the amplification volume or turn it off completely.

I have an electric mower so I can't really test for you, sorry.

I use the 3M Peltor Optime 105. They come in Over-the-Head, Hard Hat Attached and Behind-the-Head models. I actually have the behind the head model and it's pretty comfortable for me at least. I use cheap earphones underneath and mowing and slashing is a lot more "enjoyable". Doesn't block everything but you can hear the music much more clearly without having to crank it really high.

I have these and I think for lawn mowing there are better options.

The mic cut out only really works for short LOUD sounds like gunshots. So you will only really be amplifying the lawnmower noise with the microphone. So you may as well use something with no noise amplification. The aux in sucks too. Iirc its mono. I never use it.

I use my set with gel ear cups for shooting. I use a cheap pair of earmuffs and a cheap pair of bluetooth earphones underneath for lawnmowing.

    • No, these are bad for chores since there's no smart noise cancellation.

I suggest wearing normal passive earpro and optionally using bluetooth earbuds underneath.

    • I've used mine (same as this post) to mow the lawn. Works just fine.

  • Cheers OP, good price, pretty sure all the eBay listings are dodgy

Watch out! The pathetic pearl clutchers on this site might associate these with guns! Can't have anything to do with guns on this site because .. check notes .. they are legal for license holders in this country but scary? shakes head

After just watching this comparison I also found this deal, which at least based on the YouTube review seems to be the better headset/deal.

Going to get a pair of the Walker for my son for Christmas as he just got into shooting.

    • I have Walker Razors and they are the best hearing protection I've ever owned.
Very comfortable, cancellation works well, good with gloves, good on batteries and plays nice with my APX8000.

Four years going strong and they have no noticeable wear.

      • Oh cool, apparently Walkers have a walkie talkie attachment you can put over the earmuffs. That might be useful when hunting with mates. Might grab me a pair while they're at this price then.

      • My wife has the razors and I have the impact sports. Impact sport has better directional sound and is better for hunting.

    • I also have a pair of Walkers and find minimal to no difference between them and the Impact Sports.

That being said, I wear a pair of Surefire earplugs underneath as well, because I somehow always end up with the guy with a FAT muzzle brake at the range, who is testing his hot loads.

    • I've got multiple pairs of each - I prefer the HL functionality. The Walkers range are much nicer to look at. Both are good choices though, doubly so at this price.
One minor issue - the little plug cover on the Walkers input will constantly come out. Absolutely miniscule annoyance I know, but here I am posting about it!
