    any esim available?

  • +1

Your last 3 posts with Boost & CR cashback you have added a note to not forget about the $45/$50 cashback on the 12 month plans. Is there something I am missing, it doesn't seem like that great of a thing to keep posting about.

    • There you go, removed even though I personally think it's a good deal. Just a bad habit to copy/paste old posts.

    • How is this a better deal than the 50$ cash back if you can help me understand?
This sim is only for 28 days (35$ topup after) whereas the $250 is for 12 months where you end up paying 200/12 =16.6?

      • +5

Because sim sluts don't top up, we just keep buying 28 day sims.

        • So it's the hope that this deal will again be available in a month??

          • +1

@paparoached: Yep. Constantly looking every 3 weeks.. living full of thrills

            • +1

@CyberMurning: That's next level! More power to you but that requires a level of dedication that I don't think I'm ready for. I'll go with the 12 month plan for today.

          • +1

            @paparoached: A month?
Nah it'll be back next week or so.

Use case varies and YMMV, I have 4 long term numbers(1 unlimited calls/sms) at a total cost for all 4 of less than $10 a month and then lotsa Boost sims for free home internet saving me $50 a month a on a slower service.

Edit, checked. $5.62 per mnth on 4 12mnth sims, w/unlimited calls and sms on 1, outside of Boost.

            • @HopSkipJumpFallSplat: User name checks out!
Honestly that's great dedication but something I'm not ready for so will go for the long term plan.

            • @HopSkipJumpFallSplat: which Telco service costs you $5.62/mo with unlimited calls/sms? I'm also keen to take this up!

              • @nsingh21: Unfortunately it's a service that is being ended,
My 12mnth unlimited calls/sms is the $120 60gb 12mnth Amaysim at half price, $60 and 7.50 cashback, works out at $4.37 a month, the $5.62 is all 4 12mnth numbers but many or all mvno's are getting rid of the $120 60gb plans so in around 7mnths time I'll be hunting for the next best low cost 12mnth plans.

                • @HopSkipJumpFallSplat: Thanks, I'm still looking for the cheapest possible unlimited local calls and sms for my main number, and data using Boost (as long as they keep doing the promos in the foreseeable future).

            • @HopSkipJumpFallSplat: Bruh I was buying one sim each month just fine for the last 7 months, for cheap data. Then was hit with THAT message, even though I changed everything I could think of.

I'm pretty sure all credit cards with my names are flagged, including ones that I have never used for Boost. The only thing that I haven't tried is using my friend's credit card, which is not viable.

              • @nguyenlucky: yes Mr Nguyen, no more luck for you. maybe they even know your bro name by name

          • +1

@paparoached: No. Who cares about next month? Maybe there's another deal for another product then.

The main thing is - does this deal actually work when it's supposed to.

            1

  • Hey, does anyone know if boost do a credit check when we activate?

    • +4

      No, its prepaid

      • -1

Yeah, but you do need to put in your ID at the activation stage still, so thought it could still be possible. Thanks!

        • You need to give your name, date-of-birth, address,
          driver's licence and expiry date,
at the time of buying the SIM card online from Boost Mobile.

          PS:
I don't know why you got negged.

          • @whyisave: I think it's only upon activation? But yeah activation is technically required for cashback although others report having success without doing so.

            • +1

@snoopydoop: Boost Mobile is collecting a lot of information, at the time of purchase,
ie. you may not be the user of the SIM card, but it asks for a lot of details.
(Whether you want to truthfully answer, is up to you).

When you activate a SIM card,
you will need to be 'truthful',
because the system checks your Medicare,
              or Driver's Licence, etc…

However, since this is a Prepaid SIM card,
I doubt there will be a credit check.

Consecutive days of increasing profits. Any chance of hitting $7 profit soon?

      • +2

The reduced sim price ends tonight, so no.

@Fobsessive: You may mock the occasion, but I am in no doubt that we will not see a better deal than this one for many seconds to come

question for the sim jumpers guru…
is it easy to switch between esim and nano? also it is free?
for example one day with esim but then want nano (same provider). and vice versa.
or.. with nano and port out to esim
or… with esim and port out to new provider who only has nano option..
    etc etc
sorry nobies here first time with mobile phone with dual nano+esim

    • Wondering the same

    • piss easy. just put in new sim and disable e-sim done. but I have dual sim. esim as my main, boost as my monthly data. Just take out sim, put in new one. esim remains.

      • +1

but what if you want to change from esim to nano? (same number) for example now i have nano and i have new phone support esim i want to convert nano to esim. easy and free? and vice versa for example now esim but phone broke and i want to use nano in the new phone

        • +1

yeah shouldn't be a problem. I went from nano and swaped to esim no hassle. End of the day, just another sim in a different form factor

The promotional budget is being refocussed on making OzBargainers rich

  • -1

is there any list for what can we use for the spare sims

    • +6
      • call someone
      • text someone
      • view the OzBargain website when Wi-Fi not available
      • stick a pin in a balloon (my personal favourite)
    • +3

Spam your spammers. Text them about their missed deliveries lol

    • Not really unfortunately.

Food sign ups have gotten a lot worse, uber have almost nothing now. But obviously can get some stuff there.

JB perks program, similar stuff to that.

Can't think of much else off the top of my head.

    • Recycling the cardboard packaging alone with reduce greenhouse gas emissions by an impossibly insignificant amount. Could anything else possibly unite the extremes of the left and right of politics?

  • got 1000 and ready for the deposit for a house 3 months later.

    • +2

Get 2000 just to be sure

    • By the time you get to 1000 you'll need more for the deposit

    Next stop $7

  • Was hoping for a $7 profit for Cyber Monday but I'll take it.

  • $6.25 closer to Tesla

  • +2

So finally joined the “Something went wrong” club. Any work arounds?

  • +1

Is the ‘something went wrong’ when you have brought to many (hit a limit ?)

    • yes, that's what it means lol. I tried ordering 2 SIMs for a relative who lives a bit far away from I. 1st order went through, 2nd didn't.

      • I have 2 sims and cannot activate. I'll end up losing money instead

        • if your ID is valid (i.e. works elsewhere for ID checks), that means you already have a Telstra ID. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't been able to create new Telstra ID account using my same ID but new email. They really do lock it to your account. So if you try to activate a new SIM with your ID but supply an email or address that doesn't match the email or address previously used on any of their services, you're brickwalled!

        • +4

also - you have the option to activate via live chat or go physically into a Telstra store with physical ID and they'll activate it for you…don't lose your money!

        • Something went wrong at activation means you've more than 35 active numbers on your boost account. Just contact a live chat agent and get them to cancel some numbers so free up some slots.

          • +2

            @Love a bargain:

Something went wrong at activation means you've more than 35 active numbers on your boost account.

No it doesn't, never had 35 on the accnt and for months I've needed CS reps to activate for me.

There are other issues/flags/triggers that are causing a problem activating and/or purchasing.

            • @HopSkipJumpFallSplat: I have had done over 50 activations using my Drivers license online without any issues. Only time I fired up live chat was to delete my old numbers to free up space on that 35 or so limit.

          • @Love a bargain: I only have 3 active sims and 3 expired ones

            • @Brakus: do you have a Telstra account or a boost one, just login to activate, always works, or you can call.

              • @huntress_love: I have a boost one. I logged in and activated and it did not work. Tried different IDs and tried not logging in as well

                • +2

@Brakus: If you can't activate online because you are getting the Something Went Wrong Error it seems from other people's experience that you have to get chat to activate the sims for you. This has been reported as a reasonably hassle-free task.

    • Can just mean the website is borked, yet again.

  • Feel I must be getting close to the limit

  • +1

Tried buying one, got hit with "Something went wrong"

    • +1

      join the club!

  • seems like a lot of people got hit with "something went wrong" recently, i only started to get this error from 10 days ago, have been buying free sim for the last 11 month, first time encounter this issue

  • No sign of Cashrewards tracking after an hour!

    • +7

      Something went wrong

  • +3

Hmmm buying these Boost SIM cards gives higher returns than buying Telstra stocks :)

  • I'll be moving out of boost before using this one, any free sim service for smooth port out and port back in boost? Thanks

  • How many have you bought at once? I bought 5 last night on the one CR account. Just want to make sure it's safe to buy another 5 or so on the same cashrewards account?

Seems the issue is being allowed to checkout rather than activating/having them approved?

    • +1

I have both buying and activating issues

      • How many total have you bought since starting? Last night was the first time I bought some. I bought 5 last night and so far 2 tonight

How many did you do before having issues?

        • not sure actually. maybe about 20. less than 30 for sure

    • +1

No one knows. You can trigger the Something Went Wrong error just trying to buy 1. Then some people buy 50+ without an issue.

      • Should rephrase my question, historically as long as they are successfully purchased and activated cashback should be approved? Even if bought under the same CR account?

        • Yes as long as you activate during the required timeframe. New customer doesn't mean new cashrewards user, just a new SIM activation

  • I ordered this boost sim prepaid last week and only received a email with a order number and email saying sim has been posted. Didn't receive a voucher code like kogan to activate. Do you normally need a voucher code like kogan when you activate boost sim.

    • +2

From memory it comes with the sim card, either that or you don't need voucher code just use the sim number off the packet

    • +2

It's a physical sim to be delivered, no vouchers involved, when it arrives you use the SIM serial on the packaging to activate.

      • That Makes sense. Also in email says picked up by startack courier, that's fast delivered by Australia Post courier not normal snail mail. That's impressive that boost absorb the cost for courier delivery. Telstra used to do that for $2 sims maybe the still do.

  • Do you need to be a 'new customer' and not be on Boost already to get this deal?

    • +1

New customer is basically new service, you can be with boost and still take advantage of this.

  • +1

How many do people usually order

    • Trying to find out also, ordered 5 last night and 3 so far tonight. Using same email for boost order and also same CR account
