Dammit I rushed to get it in time because I thought it was going to expire.

In case anyone is interested though, you can watch preseason games on this - NASH!!!

    • Yep, thats what I saw and am trying to purchase now. How did you guys get around the international phone number entry format? I chose Australia but it won't let me progress using my number in international format. :(

      • allgood - fixed!

        • -1

i'm stuck on the phone number entry also, how did you go about the fix?

edit: nvm got it fixed. must put area code as 3 digits. D'oh!!

    • Can you only watch the preseason games live? and not archived right?
Where as the regular season games is available as archived?

  • Thanks Keef. I was going to purchase but thought that it had expired. Glad you tried it and shared it. Would +5 you if I could.

  • Damn it. Waiting on NBN.. Should be in within 4 or so weeks. Otherwise would jump on this!
BTW: Has anyone managed to somehow record games if you're not home to watch them via this service?

    Cheers for the link OP.

    • +1

mate there is a webiste which will let you watch games for free, although its average quality and has a few pop ups to get around first…(will find the URL and report back)

i've never looked into recording games sorry…theres just too many to watch :)

    • +2
    • +3

all games are archived so you just need to go back the date and watch it. you dont neeed to press record…

A comment by trevorcolby on the previous deal saved me another $50-60. He suggested going through a hungarian proxy at http://www.proxynova.com/proxy-server-list/country-hu/

That way the RRP for league pass changes from $220 USD to $140 USD, then add on the discount code to make it $120 USD.

You still go through the official NBA website to make the purchase though so its still secure. Check out trevorcolby's original comment on the other deal as he gives pretty simple instructions.

just for the sign up process? damn this would have been so easy. bloody hell!

    • +2

thanks I was thinking that I woouldnt subscribe this year, 120 is a no brainer.

    • +1

i agree, worked for me. 120 bucks for season pass and playoffs. took a bit of tries but it worked.

    • +1

Just to confirm, going through the proxy is for the sign up process only and not to watch the actual games right ?

      • +1

I was wondering the same thing. Once you sign up, can you watch the games no worries on the nba.tv website and the nba app. Or do you have to go through the proxy to watch games also?

      • +2

Just read the old trevorcolby post (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/79133) and yea you only need it to sign up. Look like plenty of people had success with it. Once you signed up, you remove the proxy and access your $120 league pass! WIN!

  • Tried trevorcolby way. I get the $140USD package but when i go to click on it it goes back to $220. Anyone else have any success with it?

Service: League Pass Regular Season + Playoffs (One-Time)
      Price: $139.99 $118.99
Receive news and offers from the NBA: Yes

I tried it again on another computer with a different internet connection. Didnt work. =(

        • In the past I've had to disable IPv6 on my connection to get proxies to work.

    • I had the same issue puregeek. It showed 140 USD but when clicked it switched back to 220. What did the trick for me was selecting the box 'Use this proxy server for all protocols' for Firefox. Hopefully that works :)

  • +1

Has anyone tried sharing the league pass with someone else? How strict do they monitor ip addresses and multiple computers watching at the same time?

    • Yes. Not very strict.

    • +4

Multiple users at the same time leads to timeouts after about 5 minutes and the first user getting disconnected. Though with that said if you generally watch games at a different time to a friend…

    • In the past, I have been able to watch on a Mobile device (Android) and my friend has been able to stream on a desktop at the same time without being logged out…

    • you cant, one logged in will make another log out. unless we talked about different devices. However, if you logged into say school internet, everyone in the network can watch it for free:P

  • +1

Wish they had this for Australian A-league soccer.

    • and AFL

      • They do have it for AFL. You just need to be a Telstra customer first. For anyone else interested, there is NBL.tv also.

        • Apples and oranges. Not the same thing. The AFL live season pass for a mobile devices is a joke. Tiny screen, poor quality… why even bother offering it. How does this even remotely compare to the NBA offer here?

        • +1

I thought you could watch it on the net(ive never used it)?

Foxtel is cheaper than nba tv so if you really wanted every AFL game live why wouldn't you choose that. Unless of course, you need/want it on the net only.

    • I might actually watch it if it were available online.

  • +1

    I just spent $59 on NBL.tv.

Puts a bullet in the chamber

    • +1

      Yeah I would too..

      • +2

yeah, some betting websites have free streaming of the nbl aswell…

        • I pulled the trigger but the bullet was a freebie from ozbargain (dud primer)….anyone got a spare?

  • Thanks OP and trevorcolby. Also for the phone number, just go "61-(your phone number/mobile number without the 0)"

  • I meant to get it last time but forgot, then have been waiting for a new discount to come out so this works perfectly.

  • Thanks OP & Trev, $118 is a true ozbargain :D

  • Thanks for the info.
I used the Romanian gateway through Witopia which also results in a price of US$140.
With the 15% discount, down to $118.99

  • +5

$120 or $102 USD in Spain after 15% discount. Spain has blackouts but if you watch from an IP outside of Spain (ie your own ip with no proxy) you will get every game including playoffs.

  • +1

    Thanks Keef and Trev!

Worked like a charm, tried a few proxies and eventually it worked.

Just some feedback for some of you wondering, I tried to stream on the desktop simultaneously with an iPad/iPhone - without any luck. Also tried the iPhone simultaneously with the iPad but that failed as well - as it automatically prompts/logs out one of the devices.

    • nice work!

  • I bought one, thanks OP and filshells. $118.99 is fantastic.

  • Awesome! So much better than watching the low quality streams!

    Hey guys,

Definitely tempted to grab this deal for $118.99.
Just wondering though, is it safe to put in banking account/credit card details through a hungarian proxy etc? I haven't had experience with this/anything through separate proxies before so just unsure.

Also thanks to the fellas who confirmed that logging into a 2nd device to watch NBA will logout another user from the original device etc. This means subscriptions cannot be shared between mates but for $118.99, definite BARGAIN!

Any idea on how much a game will run a user in terms of bandwidth/download quota? Elsewhere people have said approx 1GB?

  • +1

Cheapest option I could find with a range of proxies was Canada.

If you use a canadian proxy, you can get their price of CAD $99.99, and then use the discount code to bring it down to CAD $84.99.

That's pretty much $85 AUD for the international league pass: reg season & playoffs :)

    • +1

Spain and now Canada are cheaper options ! Should have waited ! Nonetheless, 118 is a good deal :)

    • +1

Canada only get the regular season, not the playoffs which is why it's cheap there.

Also, the 15% off coupon didn't work on the Canadian site when I tried it the other day.

      • Ohh thanks for that. What about the Spain option ? Once we're back on an Australian IP, the blackouts shouldn't apply right ?

        • Correct. You get all games from an Aussie IP.

  • Code still working as of 12/10/12, cheers!

  • Code still works!!
But a MAJOR FAIL for me, should have read the posts on the proxy approach to get the super savings that everyone else got.

    • call and cancel. thats what I did.

      • sorry I emailed them

  • Stil working for the full package, but doesn't work with Team Pass

  • The 15% code still worked for me today

I tried proxies but failed, the first screen would show the discounted price, but everytime I clicked the next screen to enter purchase details it reverted back to USD$220.

So I eventually contacted a friend who is currently working in Argentina and got her to purchase it for me, Argentina full season cost USD$140, minus the 15%, paid in 5 monthly installments.

Definitely seems like a bargain since I paid full price last year and was contemplting not gettting it at $220.

Its stupid how australians must pay more than most countries.

    • "The 15% code still worked for me today

I tried proxies but failed, the first screen would show the discounted price, but everytime I clicked the next screen to enter purchase details it reverted back to USD$220."

      Same thing happened to me.

      • Try IE instead of Firefox, it works for me.

  • First of all, I managed to get it really cheap through the Spain proxy, so thanks for your help on that!
Secondly, ss anyone else getting the message after turning off their proxy that says This game is 'currently not
available in your location.'? Not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

  • does anyone have the details for a canadian or Spanish proxy i have been searching and come up dry? apologies

  • Can anyone confirm being able to watch games with no problems after purchasing the league pass through one of the proxies? I can get the hungarian proxy to work and the code - of course all the CC details will be in there (no one been hit by strange charges either?) - but before hitting through with the deal I'd like to confirm that you guys who have purchased it can watch the games, unlike Kiz above who is having problems with it (bugger!)

    Appreciated :) Bargain at $120!
