I bought one of these, and it doesn't seem to work well? It just barely seems to be able to suck anything.

And I get it, it's meant to be use to disperse water into the carpets to clean stains, but it just doesn't seem to work well.

    • If your budget allows it, BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet is a worthwhile upgrade for about $500, less second hand. Has the hose attachment that these spot cleaners have but much more powerful. And you can actually use them to do large jobs around the house rather than just "spot" clean. Downside is they are more bulky as you would expect.

Can concur. I ended up getting this one and it works a treat! It is obscenely loud though, but I guess that's why it's good.

I have the proheat 2x. Worth mentioning that annoyingly enough the main brushes (for the carpet cleaning bit) can't be turned off when you're using the carpet cleaning bit. Makes me conscious of wearing out a bit of the floor, so I have to put something down. The other thing is that the breakdown and cleaning is a pain. Very effective however.

        • Yeah that's weird that the brushes still spin. Just lazy engineering. If you had a heap to do you could remove the belts (which there should be a button for).

I bought a 3 month old unit for $200 second hand. Quite impressed.

You are definitely not doing the proper process, they work great, maybe you aren't saturating the area enough, before vacuuming.

  • Wasnt there a kmart alternative that was as good as these ones for cheaper? I have a bosch wet & dry shop vacuum cleaner, bought a water extractor attachment and works pretty good too do the same job

    • This is what I do with ozito wet/dry vac

      • +1

I read about the wet and dry with the attachment. Cost me $49 for the Ozito wet and dry and $35 for the attachment. Works great

        • What do you use for cleaning? Just water or do you use a special soap as well?

        • I tried to find "the attachment" but couldn't, can anyone please give me any further info, I'm liking this option more as it sounds more versatile than these smaller wet dry vacs.

    • Yep there's a $99 Anko version. Does a decent job when it works, but after a few uses my unit started leaking so it's hit and miss.

  • How does this compare to the Vax at Bunnings? For the same price as this https://www.bunnings.com.au/vax-platinum-spot-wash-spot-clea…

Also no Aussie plug or guarantee..

    • +2

I have the Vax and find to be excellent, ended up buying it over the Bissell due to a very average experience with the bigger upright.

      • Thanks, for the convenience of a local warranty I will go for the Vax.

  • They also have the spotclean pro for $370.06
Limited-time deal: BISSELL SpotClean Pro | 750W Portable Carpet Cleaner | Removes Spills, Stains and Pet Messes | Cleans Carpets, Upholstery & Car | 1558E | 2.8L | Black https://amzn.asia/d/cZBMYAA

But for this amount I wouldn't risk a UK import for returns. I got one from SCA with their 20% off sale stacked with 10% GCs. Recommend doing this instead if buying new.

We bought one locally, and it had a minor failure after 3 uses. I think AU warranty is essential otherwise it's going to end up in the bin too quickly.

    • But wondering if we bought from Amazon, we are covered for about a year?

But then again…thanks for your info.

  • Does this work for car seats?

    • Refer to the photos in the listing for the answer.

  • I have one of these. Used it to clean my bed. Water was proper dirty afterwards, so I'd say it worked. As mentioned suction was a bit meh, but it did its job.
