Yea at 100% definitely worse but I never run it that loud. Normally 25-70%is the sweet spot. And the JBL is twice the price.
"And the JBL is twice the price."
yeah nothing beats JBL, and I have heard them all in store. JBL get's loud but also still digs the deepest in the bass.
honestly twice the price of the Tribit doesn't sound right. I thought it was more like 3x the price. I am pretty sure the Tribit is cheaper in other countries (AUD customers always pay more). if you get JBL on sale maybe it's twice the price.
I researched this against boom box 3 last month and decided I will spend the extra money on the boom box. Good features on this though

it is worth it 100%
just remember battery wise even JBL isn't bulletproof. make sure you keep it charged and avoid running it all the way down to 0%. there are many users who don't take care of the battery and end up with a shortened JBL lifespan.
This was going for $250 earlier this year so it could be worth waiting.
After buying a Motion Boom for $110 I can see that the Tribit would probably offer more speaker per dollar.
Im interested in trying two Upgraded Stormbox Pro's paired together for a wider stereo image. but the price is too high $144 each on sale right now, I wish it was like $110 each or less because you are getting less speaker for the money compared to the Stormbox Blast. only 3 inch downfiring woofer in each Stormbox Pro.
Is it just me or does the Tribit sound worse than the JBL?
