A word of caution: Koala outsources their delivery service to the cheapest companies while you pay $$$ for it. Two skinny lads showed up to deliver two heavy couches without the adequate equipment to move it. What ensued was damage to the couch, them eyeballing the door and making zero attempt at moving the furniture beyond the front door, taking it back then having the gall to charge you again for another delivery + storage fees. This happened to my elderly retired family members.

    • Did you contact them about this or only about redelivery?

Koala outsources their delivery service to the cheapest companies while you pay $$$ for it.

I'd hate to tell you but that is a very fair price for delivery
Koala charge Standard Delivery (to front door) $85, Room Delivery (to the room) $110 & Premium Delivery (assemble, packaging removal & recycle) $199
IKEA charge Standard (to front door) $89, Room Delivery (to room) $109
King Living charge Standard (to front door) $125 and Deluxe $195 (assemble, packaging removal & recycle)

It's literally $4 cheaper than IKEA to the door or $1 more for in-room delivery. Or if they expected full service delivery premium experience, it was $4 more expensive than King Living for deluxe assembly which doesn't sound like much difference.

making zero attempt at moving the furniture beyond the front door, taking it back

Btw which option for delivery did they select? Did they pay for Premium Assembly? That sounds like they did have the capability to move the equipment since it got to your front door. What they didn't have was the capacity to move the workspace and/or navigate your parents home. There's a responsibility on your folks to ensure it'll fit. That said, if it didn't fit, it does sound egregious to try re-delivery and storage.

Premium Delivery, it was measured and it would've fit but the delivery guys didn't even bother trying. It was precariously angled on one of those lightweight wheel dolly, hence the eventual damage that occurred. They also left loose packaging in the lobby, in which my relos had to go down clean up and throw away properly.
Yeah, I told them to fight them on the redelivery and storage fees.

        • Ah that sounds awful. Absolutely fight that, sounds completely unacceptable.

EDIT: Apologies on my tone above, just re-reading and it comes across accusatory (not intended I promise, just things on internet sound that way)..
