And don't forget the Steam version for about 1/5 the price: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/81447

(Yeah, I realise it's not quite the same "package" - post is for info only)

    • Sorry off-topic question, as I'm not really into gaming. Why is Xbox/PS3 version so much more expensive for the same game? In comparison this is not really a deal at all.

For PS3 and X360, they would have to actually ship you a physical copy of the game where the PC versions linked above are download and online activated.

Might not account for the entire price difference, but probably some of it at least. I'd imagine that it's a lot cheaper to store a heap of numbers and email them out than it is to produce, ship, store, reship a professionally manufactured cased up disc and glossy manual etc.

Also PS3 and Xbox gamed have a resale value.

        • Downloads are usually always cheaper and most likely for exactly the reasons given above.

        • Unless the download copy is through PSN, where they like to charge full RRP after most stores have stopped bothering to stock the game.

        • Urghhh! that is so true, Sometimes I wonder if Sony have any idea what the real world actually pays for games. But, I guess, some people actually do pay full RRP for games…

        • I think it must be mostly this. PC games are always cheaper even when they are released eg
          Borderlands 2 (from ozgameshop):
          - PS3 $60 (or buy it from Playstation network for $89)
          - X360 $50
          - PC $40

I've no idea why the cost of PS3 vs. x360 is so different, sure the media is different but not 10$ worth. Maybe different costs from Sony/MS?

This deal is for the GOTY editions…the Amazon PC deal is for the standard editions.

If you compare the cheapest deals on console for the standard edition of these games, then they could be had for ~ $30 delivered.

After you have played them, you can lend them to your brother / mates etc, then resell them for $20, meaning you have only paid $10 to play both on console, making it fairly comparable.

          AA is GOTY on Amazon

        • Ah yep you're right - ok maybe add a few $$$ more for the console versions, but either way, the difference is minimal.

  • Pre-order and not available until Nov 2.
