  • Got the Aiper Seagull Pro Lite that does floors & walls for $850. 140 minute run time. 2 year guarantee
    Now $840 on their website
    Just can’t do steps

    • Are you happy with the performance?

      • The pool is exceedingly clean (admittedly its brand new, but there was a ton of excavation, landscaping & masonry waste in it), such that the basket barely collects anything now.
So happy that I went with the best water type - freshwater

Would never consider a corded cleaner - seems bizarre to me, but I never had a pool before

        • I'd say calling freshwater the best system is purely your opinion.
My opinion after experience with both is saltwater is less harsh and less messing around.
Unless you were talking a natural pool which has different filtration layers built into your landscape, i have no experience with those but I wouldn't imagine it being a good option for someone new to pool ownership.

I was tossing up between Aiper and this. Aiper has had product recall issues. In terms of warranty, it would be easier to deal with Maytronics (locally based) vs Aiper (US based).
For these reasons, I think the Maytronics Eclipse is the better option

Deal with pools (and robots) for a living. I'd never recommend anything but Maytronics.

        • Great to hear. Pool Owners Australia Facebook group also spoke highly of the Maytronics robot's including Eclipse. Dolphin is superior but expensive

        • thanks mate…I personally prefer a pressure based cleaner and not the fancy battery operated ones. Pool Cleaner is one of those but expensive. Any other recomendations?

          • @a73210: If you're referring to The Pool Cleaner (white with blue wheels) I'd say they're about as good as it gets for suction cleaners. G2 Barracuda is also a decent choice but the quality of the product has taken several hits over the years.

The Pentair Rebel is basically a copycat "The Pool Cleaner" with similar performance. I think it's priced a little lower also.

            • @Pipersaurus: yep correct. I am looking at Pentair Rebel and this deal came up. The thing is what could go wrong with the suction one's. They are all manual

              • @a73210: There's definitely use cases for each type of cleaner.

Generally speaking, a robotic cleaner will do a better job than a suction cleaner in the same amount of time (2-2.5hrs) but most people running suction cleaners usually just leave them in 24/7.

              • @a73210: I own the pentair rebel, the gears broke on mine, just before the warranty period ended (thanksfully), otherwise its a $200 repair kit.

About 12-18 months later, something has happened that doesnt allow me to clip back the top section after cleaning out. Took it to the poolshop 3 people tried to workout what had gone wrong…no one knew.

              • @a73210: "what could go wrong?" It still has moving parts. Ours has been repaired multiple times, thrown hundreds more at it in "tune up kits" yes that's a factory part, that's how well known it all wears out. After 3yr our rebel is about to go in the bin.

  • Also eclipse is corded. Aiper is cordless. I think the corded ones are more powerful and reliable

  • Why on earth is there barely any info on these models…seems odd that only these models get the very large discount

Is this suitable for vinyl liner? I had another robot that made so much tears on the vinyl that I was forced to replace the liner because of leaking.

    • I’d be interested in this too.

  • Is the dual brush on the XLR worth the extra $500? I don't have any use for the other features like caddy, timer, etc.

I picked up the Eclipse XL about 6 months ago. Very happy with it

    • Hey mate, does it go onto stairs? My fibreglass pool has the safety ledge as well and wondering if it can get up that to clean the waterline.

      • Climbs up and over stairs and ledges but doesn't get into the angles

  • for those who ordered, will your order be shipped from a dealer or Dolphin? I got the email saying it will be dispatched from the local dealer..

  • Any feedback on this model? It appears to be a rebadged Dolphin Swash.
