Had a C&C order from my local refunded this morning. Walked in there just now and there were 5 on the shelf.
Definitely worth going instore, my local has more than 10 of each on 2 separate displays.

Two of my online orders this morning got cancelled for optimus prime picked up two in store, they had 16, probably none now.
Can confirm it is worth checking in store. The Colonades store had two in stock when I went in. Unfortunately a lady grabbed the other one as I was walking off. There was 1 airbus though š
Boronia (VIC) still has plenty in stock (>5), you have to go to the service desk and ask for it. They don't put it on the shelf anymore.
Chirnside Park (VIC) ran out of stock but will receive more tomorrow.

i ordered 1 optimus and 1 jurassic for pickup at around 7am however optimus got refunded. the other order of 3 optimum 1 jurassic for delivery still in process, we will see
Got an order through for the Optimus Prime last night through the free 30day OnePass trial, and just picked it up from Kmart Rundle Mall. Will be a great surprise for my son.

Can confirm with 100% certainty that my local store was cancelling "click and collect" orders for these Lego sets when the stock was sitting on the shelves at the front of the store. Maybe not Optimus Prime, but definitely the T-Rex.

Although I still think that's expensive for what you get - a dinosaur, one-and-a-half jeeps and a few minifigs. Oh and a base that's probably half the brick count.
It's a kid's Christmas present sorted, but it says 18+ on the box - maybe that's because kids will get bored building the base out of the first three bags! XD
But at least it's a brick dinosaur, not a moulded plastic one.

You just have to love Kmart and their stock control… I ordered the helicopter for pickup on Thursday last week, and Kmart promptly cancelled the order. So on Friday I noticed it was still available for delivery, and I put my order in in the morning. Around midday I received an email update regarding the order, telling me they were trying to locate stock, and I figured it was just going to get cancelled. Anyway, on Friday evening I walked into my local Kmart and, who would have guessed it, there was one helicopter box right there on the shelf! And four Optimus sets remaining also by the way. Bought the helicopter right there, and as expected the second order was eventually cancelled then on Saturday. Just makes me so annoyed with Kmart. Also received the Onepass email about $20 gift card, although I don't think I had any issues with them.
Yes, exacting the same thing happened to me with the T-rex set. Sitting there at the local store even though they were 'working hard' to locate stock prior to cancelling. All very odd.
Target isn't much better. Last Xmas I found stock of a Lego JW set on the website at a few stores close together but not local to me; luckily I had a friend who was able to collect.
After orders being cancelled at all three stores but still appearing on the website, I rang them up and they confirmed they had one item in stock on the shelf. I still had two failed attempts to buy it online before I eventually just got them to got them to hold it for me, but of course I was unable to use the $10 online voucher.
I spent about four hours on the phone too.
Just went to Kmart for something else, but spotted four of the helicopter sets on the shelf. Checked online just for fun, and of course it lists this shop as out of stock. Would be a great opportunity to grab all four of them to try and make profit later, but I'm too lazy for that.

Placed a click and collect at 7:59am and got confirmation at 9:48am. Just got back from picking up at Carrum downs Kmart VIC. No Optimus on shelves but did have a few Airbuses on display.
