My situation - I tried to order at one store - payment failed. Switched to a different store and it went through. I got a We're preparing your order email for my second order but Kmart has charged my Afterpay twice within 4 mins of each other. The Afterpay order numbers are different but when I dive deeper, the Merchant order numbers are the same for both even though they were 4 mins apart and I'm almost certain the first transaction was for my first payment failed order.

Had items in wishlist and everything logged in and ready to go, it still broke during checkout and wasn't sure what happened in the moments after. By that time the items were gone. The sale lasted all of I think 1min.

Just got back from picking up my click and collect. I got the t-rex breakout and optimus prime. Store is currently showing as out of stock online. I asked if they had more store and they said yes they have more stock for 8am sale.

Hmm interesting, I ordered one for delivery online just then and am only reading through these cancellation comments now. Why haven't they updated the listing to stop any new orders?
It runs off stock availability. So if store X shows 1 in stock, it'll still show as available to sell until it's sold, allocated to an online order, or the stock level is adjusted.
So if that item ISN'T at store X (or is damaged, or whatever reasn it's not free to sell), they'll keep getting orders & cancelling them until someone adjusts their stock level down to 0 (which never seems to happen promptly!!).
Their online system has always been like this, & always causes headaches. :-(
Ordered T-Rex 9.18am, cancelled 9.36am. An absolute cluster for customers and the staff, it's still showing as available at all three of my local stores.

Guessing each store probably had stock allocated to them but limited. Just whether the staff there bother to fulfill C&C orders or just cancel them maybe also due to inventory showing none in stock when there is.
