Not sure about the other plans, but the OP forgot to mention that the amount of calls you get is almost 50% less at the expense of this "bonus" data.

Do they actually have the S3 on $29 plan or is it BYO phone only.
I plan to get the 4G ver. but will probably go with Hell$tra, just cause they have the black colour.
Have a look at their site - $29 is for S2, $59 is for S3 including the 4G version.
Ye I thought it's a bit too good to be true and couldn't find any $29 plans on the site either. Now looking back at the thread title, I missed out the S2 part.
trading off half of your call credit for 1 gig of slightly faster internet doesn't seem like a good deal..
Half the data.. half the call credit.
The S2 is $34 per month, $250 calls and 1.25Gb data. Not that much of a deal in my view.
Might want to mention the carrier in the OP.
I've never dealt with Optus, but am tempted to ask if they will come close to matching this - for those who have dealt with them, what are my chances? They're currently asking $7 extra on a $30 plan with only $200 calls and 200mb data.
