The summaries are quite short, so you don't get all the details but good enough for a summary, and if you're interested in the book you can look into it more.
Shortform seems to have more detailed audio summaries but are longer.
Agreed. It helps me decide if I want to commit to reading a whole book since I'm mega busy and read slow.
