Do you have a liquor license to be selling/giving away alcohol?

    • -4

      Are you from LCV?

      • +2

        No.
Selling alcohol without a liquor license is illegal in Australian states. If the OP is not aware, then hopefully it will avoid them getting into trouble before retirement.

What a good way to shit on a small business…
I'm 99.9% sure you're not even in the market for a bike rack.

          • @[Deactivated]: How is that shitting on a small business? Literally saved them a world of pain and a fine.

Geez, people are so sensitive these days and can't recognise how someone is actually trying to help!

    • is it needed for "non-alcoholic" "wine"?

      • I see they have edited the post and made it “non-alcoholic wine”.

        • i wish they'd edit to clarify in the title too, this is a pretty amusing post

          • @xrailgun: Hopefully they will reply in the comments and clarify what wine they are giving away.

            • -4

@gamemaster: Giving away alcohol is 100% legal. Every business does it, I've even been gifted Wine to Gin to Whiskey to whiskey sets and other gifts. It's all legal.

My mechanic loves a slab of jack Daniels in exchange for good work

@[Deactivated]: It’s different when you offer an alcoholic drink as a favour or a private gift/exchange. But it’s illegal to do it commercially without a liquor license.

              • @[Deactivated]: Stop giving shit AND WRONG advice mate.

You can buy a bottle of wine even for $5-6 so what is you offering?

    • Grange?

      • +1

Do you really think they’re giving away an $800+ bottle of wine with a $30 bike rack?

And even IF they were, it’s still illegal

        • Joke Joyce

  • +1

Is it illegal to ride a bicycle while drunk in Australia?

    • +2

Yes, and a horse. Not joking either.

    • +1

It depends on the state. In WA there is no breath test, no BAC limit, but if you are so drunk as to be not in control of the bike (or horse) you can cop a $100 fine. You'd probably have to ride straight into a police car for that to happen.

Fun fact: same rule applies to e-bikes, but e-scooters are treated like motor vehicles, so 0.05 limit and big fines.

    Correction on deal:
Giving away Ladies Bicycle Extension Bar instead due to feedback.

    • +3

Can I still choose the wine instead?
