I think this is the manual and it says in "about the battery" that the unit contains a non-replacable lithium ion battery. I think the price is fine but I wouldn't recommend buying a dashcam with battery based on my personal experience (my old one sometimes start with car and sometimes it doesn't plus resets date&time stamps when it starts for few minutes then it shows the right ones)I've been with Viofo for years and never looked back. Has held up in the Aussie summer heat. Anything with a battery is just dodgy at this point.

My viofo does this too - but it's the power adapter, not the cam itself. Maybe your issue too. Seems they may need something with a faster "rise-time" on the power in, and I reckon (but I've not measured - maybe one day I'll get around to it) the cheaper adapters have slower rise times. At the moment I just unplug/replug it if I notice it doesn't start.
Capacitor?
