According to Camelcamel, it is the lowest price ever for these well-regarded near-field studio monitors. No indication of when the deal expires.

Note: these are not intended for general music listening, even though there is nothing stopping you if you prefer to get a clean neutral sound. This price is per speaker and yes it is quite pricey when compared to Edifier, but they are used for a different purpose: precise music production studio monitoring in suboptimal acoustic environments i.e. your bedroom studio. Also, they come with balanced XLR and 1/4" jack sockets, so if you want to connect them via RCA, maybe the smaller iLoud Micromonitors may be more suitable (and they are much cheaper!) or else adapters would be required.

The smaller iLoud Micromonitors are also on special at $385 for a pair. These come with consumer-grade audio RCA connections, so may be more appropriate for those who want to use them as general-purpose computer speakers for example.

I heard that some people put them in the living room beside the TV and still have positive outcomes.

The smaller ones sound great at really low volumes. I'd happily use these as home stereo speakers.

    Shame about this review:
The coil beeping of MTMs is a known problem in the 240 volt power grid and since iLoud refuses to do anything about it, the purchase is a lottery.

    • this company is italian

      italy is a 240v country

Sure - the transformer supports 110-240v. Pointing out the whine.

I bought the Micros a few years ago (for $570) after a lot of searching around trying to find something that would tick all the boxes. I figured they would be decent given the reviews I came across. But given the size and price I was amazed at how good they were, so at $385 that's an absolute no brainer to me.

As far as the MTM's go, I haven't heard them, and they don't seem to get the same reception as the Micros. However, the usual retail cost is usually $1300-1400ish, so at $788 a pair that seems extremely good to me.

OP suggests these aren't for normal music listening but I would disagree. If you like a neutral tone or uncoloured sound and clarity, there's nothing wrong with using them for casual listening.

Thanks for the additional info. And yes I agree, the MTMs can be used for casual listening depending on preferences. I updated the description.
