$30 off Renewal of $120 1-Year Unlimited 60GB Plan + 50GB Bonus @ amaysim (For Existing Prepaid Customers)

401

Mod note: This is a standard customer retention deal, which is emailed directly to the customer approximately 1 month before their 365-day prepaid plan is about to expire. Offer can only be accepted via a unique link emailed to the customer.

This offer is not intended as compensation for the recent Optus outage.

Original deal description is as follows

For those currently on an amaysim 365 day 60GB plan and looking closely at the CatchConnect 60GB plan for promo price of $89…..

Just received the following SMS from amaysim for my 365 day 60GB plan which is due to expire in December 2023.

I purchased this plan last year during the amaysim Black Friday HALF PRICE 365 DAY LONG EXPIRY PLANS sale.
It only cost me $60 for the entire year thanks to OzBargain spotting these incredible deals!

I assume amaysim is expecting to lose some customers to the CatchConnect $89 deal and also because of the recent Optus outage.

Here is the wording of the SMS:

"Just to show you how much you really mean to us, we're gifting you $30 off your next renewal of your $120 Unlimited 60GB plan
PLUS
we're also gifting you a massive 50GB bonus data to enjoy
Check your inbox for details"

In the follow-up email (which ended up in TRASH) they confirm 110GB data valid for the coming renewal year.
This plan includes UNLIMITED DATA ROLL-OVER so I assume the extra 50GB is on top of any data rollover.
There is a link in the email to confirm the offer and authorize amaysim to charge you $90 for the renewal.
Here is a screen capture of the emailed renewal offer:
https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/137118/108422/amaysim.…

Just for the record I currently have AUTO-RENEW turned OFF.
So if you don't receive this offer the TURN OFF AUTO RENEW!

If you ask me, this is a far better deal than the CatchConnect $89 deal because:
a) You get $110GB data vs 60GB with CatchConnect
b) You get Unlimited data rollover vs None with CatchConnect
c) Much better customer service with Amaysim.

The 365 day 60GB plan doesnt appear to be open to NEW CUSTOMERS at present but don't be surprised to see amaysim offer something very similar next week during the Black Friday sales!
Be on the lookout

I just signed up for my plan 3 months ago, and they gave me 60GB of dsta to use for a month to say sorry about the outage, got a bonus 20gb on my birthday for 30days too. Amaysim tend to do this regulary as my family have had this experence for the past 4 years

    • +3

Sucks the 60gb expires end of year, would have liked it to be longer

      • Yeah rolled over would have been nice

        • +2

Also they are giving themselves up to 24 Nov to apply it (just checked, havent got it yet) so its pretty shit. Just over a month to use it.

    • Ditto here.
      they are good operators

  • PRICE in title

  • Thanks for the heads-up.

  • +3

didnt read that all but for reference i got the 365 day 160 or 180gb plan from them a month or so ago just by messaging and saying the competitors have better prices and 5g they took $100 off and it came to $100 for the whole year. nearly have 300gb of data aswell with it rolling over

    • WOW !

    • +1

      Who had the better deal?

  • They have been offering 25% off for renewing pretty regularly? I got that text for my old plan but i had a $100/180gb/365day lined up and did that instead

    • Thx for the heads up on that.
      Glad to hear.

Except this time they are offering a Bonus 50GB as well.
Maybe to hang onto customers due to the Optus outage????

  • I think you missed the forums…

  • +1

This promo is standard across all plans and I got offered it on a diff plan pre the outage about 4 weeks ago , plus a bonus 50gig lasting a year

  • +4

    Bring 60 back!

    • +1

Yes! maybe next week for Black Friday sales.

      • +1

Yep that's what I am waiting for too

    • That plan doesn’t exist anymore.

      • +1

The 60GB $120 365 day plan does indeed exist and its definitely ongoing.
Unfortunately its not on the market for NEW customers at present.
But it would make a Great Black Friday special next week!

So check back with amaysim on Monday.
You never know what they will pull out of the hat
Especially after the horrible Optus outage. .

  • Got a different offer: 3x renewals $7.50 (normally $15) with 18GB data/28day period.

  • Havent received it yet. But hope i do!

    • +1

      Try turning OFF auto renew

    • Me neither. I was with Amaysim until 3rd Nov on the 1 year 0GB plan and I had auto-renew turned off. They never sent me any email to renew so once it expired I moved on

  • +1

Got the offer, decided to stay!

  • +1

Really poor coverage in Melbourne train lines

    • +2

Yeah funniest thing is there's a blackspot in Macquarie Park.. where Optus is based.

      • Lol.. haven’t they fixed it yet?

I called them to complain about this 7 years ago when I was working and living in Macquarie Park and the executive said it is because of the mobile I was using. iPhone 5. He said something like it uses different band than what Optus uses and is why causing poor signal and no signal. My office was right across the road to Optus head office.

        • My office was right across the road to Optus head office

Damn.. Well this is the other side of Macquarie Park Station, so maybe the whole area has Swiss cheese signal lol.

    • Hmm Id stay off the train lines.
Better to keep inside the trains

      • But how you gonna call lifeline

  • +1

Hmm. Im waiting, my plan is expiring on the 3rd Jan next year. Will snap up another good prepaid deal next Friday.

    • Mine appeared exactly 1 month prior so wait till 3 December
If nothing by 15 December give them a call

  • how to apply this existing offer? im using amaysim 180GB, expiry on 25Nov.

    • Amaysim contact you directly exactly 1 month prior via both SMS and email.
I suggest you give them a call

  • Amaysim email offer for 180GB, but not offer downgrade. i dont need 180GB.

Enjoy $50 off your next renewal of your plan for your mobile Plus, enjoy a massive 50GB bonus data when you accept this offer!
    That's a huge saving of $50.

    $50 OFF NEXT RENEWAL $150 for 1 year, then it's $200/1 year 230GB

    for 1 year, then it's 180GB/1 year
    Unlimited talk & text
    Standard numbers
    in Australia and to
    28 countries

    • So you got the renewal offer after all.
      there you go.
      Consider yourself lucky!

  • Mine expiring in a week but haven't received yet. Let me turn off auto-renew to see if i'll receive the offer. Otherwise, i'll just convert to PAYG.

    • Might be too late for that now.
Give thier Customer Service a call

  • I have 2 x $200/180GB and 1 x $120/60GB 365-day SIMs on Amaysim, expiring on 21 Nov and 14 Dec.

I received an email this week offering 15% off each renewal and that's it.

At this stage I'll be buying a couple of $4 Voda 5GB 30-day SIMs, porting them all out, then getting the best Black Friday 365-day deals (including Cashrewards) and porting back in for those.

I doubt Amaysim would renew these for half the price just because I ask.

    • Here is Amaysim's CURRENT SPECIALS which expire on Sunday 19 November
Basically half price for 1st month on 28 day plans with some with extra GBs for 3 months

No specials on 365 day plans unfortunately

      https://www.amaysim.com.au/

But wait till Monday 20th for possibly BETTER BLACK FRIDAY DEALS

      • +1

Yes exactly, Amaysim have always had great BF deals along with Cashrewards - that's what has kept me as their customer. Without those I'll go elsewhere.

        • If you are on the Amaysim 60GB 365 day plan your choices have almost run out.
The only option today is CatchConnect 60GB 365 day plan $89 for new custiomers but no unused data rollover.

  • Have done call and chat with Amaysim and they are adamant that this offer doesn't exist? My plan expires in two days and i never received the email :(

    • I chatted with a Support Agent today and they honoured it. I never received a text or email about it. My plan expired yesterday. Maybe try again.

      • Awesome, could you please guide me - exactly what did you ask them? and what offer you got?

  • The Catchconnect 60GB 365 days plan for $89 is your next best option.
But its still $120 to renew next year and a much lesser plan than Amaysim.
Unless you just elect to let the Amaysim renewal go through at $120.

Keep in mind that both Optus and Telstra are killing off these cheap 365 day plans for new customers with their MVNOs.
Coles and amaysim no longer offer them to new customers and Woollies 365 day plans now start at $170.
So CatchConnect wont be far behind. Probably depends on their contract expiry date with optus.

Better if you can wait until Monday to see what amaysim throws up for their black Friday specials

  • +2

For a 365d $120/60GB plan, I got the $30 off/additional 50GB text but never got the email so I Live Chatted with an agent who requested for a screenshot of the text.

The $30 and 50GB was honored on renewal. Pretty good service.

  • Optusfail

    • LOL
Better the Vodafail (poor or no reception outside metro areas)

  • With BlackFriday almost finished, seems there's no $60 renewal… Bugger!

    • Never was going to be a deal like that this year.
The telcos have lifted their wholesale prices big time during 2023.
The 60GB plans have all disappeared - except CatchConnect for $89 - last one still standing!
So grab it quick before its gone forever as well.

      • +1

Yeah, pitty about the price increase. I got offered a renewal for $90 with extra data from Amaysim, plus data-banking, so will likely go with that.

        • Same here.
Its a great plan and a great RENEWAL deal.
Includes Free international calls to 15 countries too.

Note: Others here have complained they did NOT get this renewal offer so consider we are some of the lucky few.

  • +1

Got the renewal offer. Too good to pass up.

    • When is your plan suppose to expire?
      Was it 60gb plan?

      • +2

Yeah 60GB plan. Supposedly to expire 3rd Jan 2024 with auto renew turned off. The renewal offer was 90 dollar/110GB Data 365 days deal. Saw it on my email and had a look. I was impressed. Too good to pass up so I clicked accept.

The previous bonus data from Optus now stacked with the new bonus data.

        • I think this offer may be received by only those who had 60gb plan taken last yr.
I have 180GB plan which is going to expire on 14Dec but no emails yet.

          • @bluespider: I looked at my payment history. I can see 99 spend this year on the 1st of Jan for a renewal. Can’t remember when exactly I got back to amaysim with my main number but I have a history of jumping the number across different network (boost, belong)

I leave AUTO renew off as my default option

  • For those who have successfully signed up for this renewal offer, how does the payment works. I have about $30 sitting in account credit, does it offer me the option of using $30 from account credit and paid remaining $60 from my selected payment method. Just thinking how best to test this.

  • If you accept this offer, do you need to go into Myaccount and change the auto renew settings? Or is this automatically dedicated from your stored payment method?

    • Just click on ACCEPT OFFER.

        @HeWhoKnows

        Thanks for this post

I live chat them and told them about how a friend got this deal

The deal is actually 20% off the $120 yearly
        And bonus 50gb

I told them I didnt recieve the email promotion
And kogan $100 promotion was going to end 30th April 2024 and I was going to port over end of month.

They said they will honour the deal my friend got for me only this one time and added a 20% off my Renewal on my account

        Thanks again

  • I'm on the Woolies $119 plan and didn't get any retention offers. Actually, not even a warning my plan was going to expire in 3 days, I do get marketing emails from amaysim, so shouldn't be an issue there.

I have got retention offers from amaysim in the past, but on their plans they sell themselves. This is my first time on the Woolies plan.

  • Woolies are just selling this plan as another grocery line.

    There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!

  • Has anyone being offered this deal recently? Mine expiring in two weeks, nothing came through and chat with customer service ended up with nothing. Just want to know if this is still happening otherwise should mark it as expired.

    • Its targeted and was being offered over 12 months ago…
We have no idea what thier selection criteria are.
      Its certainly not automatic.

I also got offered 15% OFF for my subsequent renewal ($102 for 2024/25 renewal) just days after I renewed for 2023/24
      Maybe they like me????
Or maybe because I signed up 2 years ago on a half price deal ($60)

But still at $120 this Amaysim plan remains great value.
Expect the price on these $120 60GB 365 day plans to increase over the next 12 months.
All these cheap 60GB 365 day plans are gone now so you would have no other choice but to upgrade.

You probably wont find anything cheaper in the next 2 weeks.

You just missed out on a great catch Connect deal.
This $150 plan (120GB) was selling for just $109.
Today its full price but includes 60GB bonus data.

      https://www.catch.com.au/event/catch-connect-60gb-bonus-data…

Just missed out on a good Kogan mobile deal as well unfortunately
But still this is by far the best value 365 day plan today if you dont mind the (limited coverage) Vodafone network
