$120 for 60GB no longer exists, $200 for 180GB has been scrapped to copy Woolworths' $220 for 200GB. The 4G data has now been capped to 100Mbps, where it was unlimited speeds in the past. No sign of the 6 month expiry plan as well.
New Plans are more expensive:
Coles and Catch following this pattern will cause the end of cheap value options on the Optus network.
There are also now no 28 day plans cheaper than $18 full price.
I wonder what is going to happen when it is time to re-new??

I activated on 30-Nov and a few days later received the renewal offer via email which I duly accepted. Will find out what the base plan is when the time comes.

Attempting to renew that plan still brings up the $120 plan at least. Maybe they'll grandfather people in?
IMO $170 for 150GB is fine, although I assume it'd wipe out any databank when changing from the $200 for 180GB to that.
The data speed cap just seems weird, don't they want people to go over and use up more data? Maybe that's being pushed down from above. Personally if I could consistently get 100MB/s on 4G I'd switch my crappy NBN connection to that.

Potentially unpopular opinion: Anyone on OzBargain who buys Amaysim mobile plans at normal full price is an idiot.
1-2 times a year, they sell them for half price with a potential further discount with cashback.

Given these plans are 12 months, shopping around once a year to see which MVNOs are selling their long term plans for cheap isn't that much of a bother. It's nowhere near as hardcore as sim slutting every few months.
