    Mini Rice Cooker US$14.99

Where can I purchase mini rice to use for this?

    • +7

Buy normal rice and break it down individually by yourself. Home made mini rice

Go to Asian grocer and ask for broken rice

    • +1

      It's called broken rice.

      • jv will need a broken rice cooker. Got a recommendation for him?

        • Nothing a hammer won't fix.

    • Mini rice is super expensive though. It's what they use to make sake - they polish the rice until it is like 25% of its original size.

        use to make sake

        For goodness sake….

      At a Mini Mart .

This looks cute but if you want a rice cooker, go to Kmart or Big W for less hassle.

Also another site that collects personal data like Temu/Ali/bla bla.

So NO! But didn't down vote because the rice cooker was cute !

    • Also another site that collects personal data like Temu/Ali/bla bla.

You'd be shocked to know that all websites are collecting personal data. Even OzBargain can see a shitload of information about the device you're browsing from.

This test only scratches the surface

      • just by typing my state in the website you linked, it knew straightaway my address and email. this is a bit scaring… need to do something to stop the info leaking.

btw, i am totally fine with Temu/Alibaba.

        • Was it just your browser doing a form autofill? That's what it normally is - how could a site know your address and email if you haven't been there?

  • We really only ever cook a cup of rice at a time so this could be quite handy. Though a classic elcheapo at Kmart is only $14 with more flexibility and it really isn't all that much bigger (20 x 18 x 18cm for the mini vs 29cm x 22cm x 22.5cm for Kmart).

  • Hope some day they come up making these cookers with another inner material inside besides all these self proclaimed not dangerous, non-stick materials. Maybe stainless steel, glass etc.

    • It already exists - not cheap but totally worth it in my opinion. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/807649

Wow didn't know. Yes it's not cheap but it's definitely worth it for an item that you use almost daily. Thanks for the link 👍

How do you know for sure stainless steel or glass is any safer???

      • They are effectively inert at the temperatures involved . Teflon on the other hand…

  • Thanks. I need another rice cooker after my last one died in the pants. Microwave rice cooking works alright. Would like another dedicated one.
