They usually reject you if you dont have an active account with funds going in weekly/fortnightly and warning you take a credit hit

Claimed this twice already, easy $50 x2. Worth noting NAB seems to have this same offer for their own version of BNPL

    • Did you claim it twice under the same account ? Or like 1 from yours and 1 from your partners or smth like that?

      • +8

should have clarified. I claimed it once in 2022, and then closed my steppay account. after 12 months, it's considered a 'new' account again and I claimed it again just a few months ago in 2023 and closed my account right after again.

Tip: Put it in the calendar when you close your account so you dont have to ask CBA chat when you closed your account last year lol.

I signed up never used it. Didn't even think to close it

$400 min. spend? Come on CBA you can do better than this with your $10B profit.

  • Steppay deducting funds from non-credit card accounts means you miss out on earning points.

    What are you doing Steppay

    • Small lol, have a +1

      Steppay, I'm stuck!

    • TIme to buy a new dryer.

  • steppay got 0% international transaction fee , same as nab BNPL. great for daily transaction for overseas.

    • +1

Wait, I didn't know this. Doesn't even make sense. Exchange rate is probably trash though

      • That is how they get you. 0% fee means nothing.

    • that's good, but the exchange rate that they are going to do for free is horrible. it is basically built into the "0% international transaction fee"

  • I feel this is a waste of a credit check! Might as well go for a credit card sign up bonus.

    • They dont care about serviceability, so churning BNPL is pretty much the best you can do after maxing out limits on home loans and existing credit cards.

    Testing negger numbers:
I got rejected because my credit score is too high.

    • I got rejected too but it didn’t say why. How did you know that was the reason?

      • Over the last 41 years the CBA has rejected credit to us around 5 official times without proper reason, apologised 3 times with a credit card on better terms. Now they also onw one of the credit raters and are as leaky as Floptus.
Westpac twice came to the rescue but later jacked up the charges like hell.
NAB was even worse, the junk insurance question was just a plain rip off.
Now there is AMP near the bottom and Perpetual Bank should be outright banned.

  • I got approved for exactly $400 limit.
Transfered $25 to StepPay so that I could make a payment over $400 for the $50 back but it got returned the next day. So thats not an option. Have managed to make two purchases now so should qualify. Posting myself a reminder here to check for the $50 in 90 days.

    • Met spending requirement on Sept 21, still waiting for the $50

      • just checked again, seems that the $50 was already applied in Sept
Cashback was credited directly to my StepPay account as 'STEPPAY50'.

  • waiting for the $50 as well

  • finally received my $50

  • Got it thanks OP
