Morning fellow Ozbargainers, check out the Tesla Cybertruck, a real ripper on wheels. It's like Elon Musk threw a bunch of shapes together and said, "She'll be right, mate!" Who needs curves when you can have the charm of a stealth bomber cruising down the burbs? It's the perfect thing for when you want to make a statement like, "I'm here to pick up the ankle-biters… and maybe survive the zombie apocalypse on the way home." So, if you're tired of blending in with the boring Camry crowd, a not-so-subtle hi-yield investment, get onto the Cybertruck, where every drive feels like a mission to boldly go where no polygonal rig has gone before.

    What the….

  • +39

This is literally the opposite of a bargain. Costco needs to pay me $190 for this toy

  • Is this suitable or will my Heymix powerbank do the job?

    • +2

Throw the Heymix at the cybertruck and watch them both break 🥳

  • Don't think I'll ever buy this blocks at any price point.

  • +3

Just don’t throw ball bearings at it.

    Love the description. Just brilliant.

    • -1

Looks like someone is miffed I pointed out Musk, yet again, made a fool of himself.

    • Haha too late - check the pics of the product!

  • +2

How many years does delivery take?

  • +7

Build quality looks near identical the real thing by the early production viewing reports.

    • +1

This one won't be illegal to own in Europe and Australia!

  • +2

For those of you who sport shoot, when this goes on sale for 90% off, you know what to do.

    • +1

      The model or the original?

      • Or Elon himself.

        • -1

@Lord Fart Bucket: Good one, but Yuck! hahaha!!…

      • @try2bhelpfu:I would restrain from buying both.

  • +4

Good effort by the Mega designers to get the panel gaps between the doors and body not to line up. Also being plastic it wont rust.

    • stainless steel generally doesnt rust either but anyone with a stainless steel fridge knows how dirty they get.

  • I think this is important to share with OzB community.
Good calibration post to understand what is not a bargain to 99.9% of people, but will be one fool who wishes to part with the money and that fool can at least retain some if it….

  • -1

    Upvoting for the fantastic description

  • +1

I don’t hate the IDEA of the Cybertruck, but the execution is executable

  • +1

Does it comes with gaps in panels just as the real deal?

    • +2

It's the Elon's innovative design called AFAC( Auto Fresh Air Circulator) for his CyperSh**truck.

  • +2

I was driving behind a real one the other day.

They look worse in person (and i LIKE 80s boxy cars), and the rear suspension was so bouncy it looked faulty.

    • +3

      Where did you see one?

      • +1

Odd that an American would be scouring Australia for bargains….

        • Hmm? His location says Melbourne.

          • @MasterScythe: They’re certainly not in Australia yet. We do have 2 Ford EV monster trucks over for testing. So maybe their location is a lie?

      • +1

About half an hour north of Brisbane.

I imagine they were suspension tuning based on how bad it was.

        I kept the dashcam footage.

        • +4

Cool, got a link to it?

        • +3

I would love to see that footage

  • +1

    Hmmm, love it! Very futuristic

  • +3
  • +3

It actually exists. Wow! Anyone seen it driving on the streets for real?

  • We got this Hot wheels, no building required and actually moves! For under $60 a few years ago.

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08J4FQWCX

  • I can afford this!

  • +2

    as above, cheaper at ebay

  • +4

One of these is going straight to the pool room to be put next to the model of Homer Simpson's design. Perfect companion.

  • I want my transformers truck instead

  • Waiting for Toyota to release a Hilux Hybrid. Not that I will be able to afford it.

  • +1

The only cool thing about the Cybertruck is the way it is engineered from cold-rolled stainless steel. A plastic model is just ugly for no reason.

  • It looks like a triangular tent when viewed side-on. With wheels somehow.

  • as above, cheaper at ebay

Go rightwing and turn into a baby who blames everyone else for their problems. There seems to be a pattern there.

The companies need to find a way to get Musk into a back room and give him something to tinker with. He is going down some very dark holes and I don’t think he has the EQ to deal with it.

      • Least he's not the one keying EVs

        • Don’t regressives hate EVs; odd that he would even align himself with them in the first place.

        • +1

I don’t think Musk’s problem is the work he has done with EVs. It is the lurch to the right since then and the trail he is leaving in his wake. He is burning through a lot of money and alienating the very people who should be his customers. Billy Bob in Arkansas isn’t looking for an EV car or a battery for his solar panels.

Not just a rightwing thing. Im sick of being lectured by academics and movie stars about how people less fortunate than them are somehow also oppressing them.

He is going down some very dark holes and I don’t think he has the EQ to deal with it.

Dont worry hes not actually autistic. Hes not as high iq as he or fanboys think he is, but he has at least an average eq. The faux aspergers is just an act to hide his real self.

        • +1

The left is more about how society is oppressing other people. It is sort of their thing. If they are calling out stuff against then it is usually things like sexual harassment that should be called out. There are some left douches but, dear Lord, have a look at the GOP and the rightwing media. Just stunningly appalling. Between the Televangelist “I have sinned” to Trump’s insane state by state court appearances there is something deeply problematic. Is there any depth of depravity they won’t let Trump sink to or any sin the religious right won’t forgive him for?

So Musk is actually just a shit person rather than deluded. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. :)

          • @try2bhelpful: Trump is interesting because he is not actually really right wing, or left wing, or centrist - he is strictly an opportunist who goes wherever the wind blows. When he first bragged about running for president it was going to be as a democrat. Multiple people who have worked closely with him have described how he doesnt have a moral compass or any genuine values or principles.

The fact that the gop have for years compromised their values repeatedly to benefit from his cult leader powers just shows how spineless most people in politics are. But i concede it is a terrible indictment of most but not all of the right in the US right now.

As for the trump cult members, just an example of how powerful a cult leader can be. Its sad and scary to watch.

            • +1

@bargain huntress: The trouble is I think Trump is now beginning to drink his own Koolaid. He would’ve been much better off accepting the result of the last election and setting himself up for the next one. He just can’t get out of his own way. It is insane in America at the moment. Hopefully he loses the election, yet again, but I suspect there will be riots if he does.

One of the hyped-up and ugliest trucks we've ever seen :-)

  • -1

    Runs on boomer tears

  • +1

Even as a toy this thing is (profanity) ugly and an embarrassment.

  • I came for the comments. I'm not disappointed 🍿

  • The description is much better than the product

  • +1

the model comes with broken windows, taking the piss like a mega boss

  • The real thing will never pass regulations. It'll cut a pedestrian in half.

    • -1

I think it will. No different to other American death machines

  • Hahaha! That last photo! Brilliant!

  • Too funny. So polarising. Very hotly anticipated by Tesla bulls and bears alike. It is certainly a head turner.

  • +1

    No bargain

  • Fugly little car.
