Willow Petrol Jerrycan - 20 Litre $35.99 (Was $44.99) + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Supercheap Auto

110

Been looking at getting more jeerycans considering the fuel price cycles are a lot more difficult to predict. I stock up on fuel when it's cheap and use them in under a month. Experts say you can store them between 3 to 6 months before the fuel starts to degrade.

From website,

Features
20 Litre capacity
For the upright storage of fuel only
Approved for filling & storage of petrol & kerosene
Meets standard AS/NZS 2906:2001
Heavy duty construction
Fast-pour no-spill flexible nozzle
Two handles for easy pouring
Detachable anti-glug nozzle

  • aldi had a steel 20L with spout attachment for $40 a couple weeks ago…picked one up for $30 on clearance. keep an eye out next time….excellent value

    • Thank you very much! Is this the product you're mentioning: link? I'm also curious about the correct way to pour it without excessive spillage.

      • You can buy a separate steel Jerry can pourer from bunnings etc - it locks into the spout. The ALDI version had a pourer included. Not sure of the ALDI quality vs the pro quip

Bought green & black one from aldi, very good and safe, just becareful with pressure inside when filled up jerry can near capacity. Save time & money from cotsco to fill up 3 cars

    • will the steel jerrycan rust?

is there any benefit of the steel vs the plastic jerrycan?

      • dont sit it in water.
which is the more durable and stronger material?

  • invest in 7/11 fuel lock instead

    • Why?

so you don't have to screw around with Jerrycans just to be the price cycle?

    • Terrible product (imo)

      • Agreed, but does the job for holding fuel.
I just decant into 2 x 10L through a large funnel to avoid the shitty spout.
        Never had any problems otherwise.

I stock up on fuel when it's cheap

Let's say the variation in fuel price is 20¢ per litre. To fill this can up you save $4. As you use it in 1 month it will take you 11 months just to recover the cost of the Jerry can. Is it worth it?

Let's say the variation in fuel price is 20¢ per litre.

      It's about 40¢ currently.

      • Holy crap. It doesn't budge where I live. We don't have the city cycles. Always just $1.95 and has been for months.

        • I filled up at 171.9 yesterday (incl. 12 cents off coles express vouchers)

Have enough fuel to go pickup this week's goat.

@jv: I've PayID my share for the goat this week.

          • +1

@jv: I heard the news yesterday saying oil is the lowest price it's been is like 3 months. Except I go to the bowzer today and it's $2.26 for 91..

  • Was at my local BP on the weekend, they have 2 charge stations and each had a vehicle charging, be interesting at what point petrol prices go up due to reduced demand and cost to supply and we see less variation in the "cycle" ? 5 years, 10 years ?

Cycle will switch to the electricity “pumps”.

  • Doing a lot of driving over dusty roads, I much prefer fuel containers with the spout stored internally. The Pro Quip 20 litre jerry can is only 3 bux more…

  • Is this a good Jerry can to have while driving down a dusty red soil plain?
I am looking find the ancient arts from the keeper of the flame.

  • Huge pass. Nozzle gets full of crap, stinks your car out and they are tippy. Scepter for the same money are way better.

Been hoping for a scepter deal!

      • Yes they are definitely worth it. I've had mine for over a decade, and i have the 5L, 10L and a few of the 20L for petrol and a 20L for diesel. The 20L petrol containers have spent a few thousand hours in the bow of the boat getting bashed around offshore and still going strong.
