[NSW] U91 Fuel $1.697/L 8pm-8am Nightly @ TEMCO Petroleum, Greenacre

1110

With fuel prices so high lately, TEMCO have consistently been dropping their U91 to $1.697 every night this week.

Can confirm the price is accurate as I've just filled up. Worth the short drive as they're over 20c cheaper than any servo near me.

Goes to show how much we are actually being ripped off when they still turn a profit at this price.

  • This just shows how as society we're all (congrats to the exaction, maybe 5-10%, maybe) shallow. By suburb that you're living in you're immediately being labled and judged, classified. Sad, sad world we live in.

This logic has always confused me a bit.

You're probably looking at atleast a 30 minute round trip (this isn't including the risk of there being a queue at the pumps causing further delays) - plus whatever it costs in terms of the incremental usage of your car (small in the grand scheme of things but not zero).

Even if you're on minimum wage then your time is worth at least $10 here you'd assume.

Say you're saving 30c a litre (there's plenty of providers at circa $2 based on a quick check of the apps) and you fill 50L, you save $15 but you've lost at least $10 of your time plus associated running costs of your vehicle - I'd probably also get sucked into buying a snack at this time of night.

If its out of your way and you're filling an average sized tank, I dont think the savings really make it worthwhile.

Even if you're on minimum wage then your time is worth at least $10 here you'd assume.

Usually a stupid assumption since most people do not have 24/7 potential to be earning money. What do you expect people to do? Spend $10 more at a closer servo and then do a quick 30 minutes shift serving customers at the bakery next door (and getting paid for it)?

        • Hahah

        • -1

I thought someone might raise this point. In sydney, yeah you probably could earn money 24/7, there's also air tasker etc.

My work isnt particularly well paid and there's always the possibility to take on more hours so admittedly I've mad a bit of a generalisation - but I think a lot of lower paid jobs are often like this.

I'd think people on incomes higher than me would value their time more than I do. I'd understand a bit if a detour but not a 40km - you'd also probably use close to $5 in fuel getting there and back.

Obviously, you can do whatever you think is right for you. It doesnt stack up as that much of a deal for me when you factor in the incremental time and travel costs.

Let's have a meet up there and then spend the money saved on Al Aseel across the road.

  • 91 is 169.7
    98 is 219.9

    Ouch

  • cries in the ACT U91 186.7 U98 206.7

  • Imagine if the government/rba thinks raising the interest rate will lower the cost of petrol. They gotta make the Australian dollar stronger first since most of our goods are imported. The compounding effect from transportation will just be passed onto the consumer.

  • damn just fueled up but wouldve taken advantage of this deal. thanks for sharing !

  • What’s the catch?

  • -2

Even if it was cheaper maybe the real problem is you are wasting too much of your life driving.

The real solution is drive less, spend your time on better things than driving MORE to sav ea few lousy dollars.

  • Saw 98 yesterday for $2.48 :o

  • So glad that i switched the daily commute car to EV. Cost me about $4/100km to charge at home as compared to $16-20/100km on the small petrol car.

  • Not 8pm it's from 8:30 pm onwards.
