75 Inch TV with Stand Legs That Can Be Adjusted to Be Closer?

Hi all

Tldr - does anybody know which 2023 75 inch TV's have adjustable legs, so the TV can fit on a narrow table?

I will be buying a 75 inch TV before Christmas. I am hoping to get Mini Led for as cheap as possible, but will compromise if a cheaper TV can fit on my stand.

I won't be wall mounting. Most TV's have stand legs spread far apart in the stock photos, which will not fit the table that I will be using.

Currently I can only see the following as options that will fit. However, I did notice in a jb hifi store that the Hisense 75A7KAU had one leg that was installed fairly close to the centre. This leads me to believe that I may have more optionsas far as TV's that will fit within limited space.I've asked sales people in store, but none of them were present in the installation process - so they dont know which TV's will work for my space.

So far it looks like these are the only options I have.

Samsung Q70c
Tcl c745 and c845
HIsense U8KAU

Thanks in advance.

I imagine that the leg dimensions are designed to provide stability to the tv if not wall-mounted. Can you attach an anchor point to complement smaller dimension legs?

    • I think a big reason for the far apart legs is to accommodate sound bars, which are being pushed as the standard for home entertainment.

      • Legs far apart is more stable. No one would buy a TV with legs close to the middle. A 75" TV will be HEAVY, too.

        • Agreed when it comes to legs because they have less surface area, but the standard square middle stands (that all monitors have) are stable. Some of the higher end 2023 TVs have big middle stands, it just seems that the mid range and below tend to use wide legs.

I've seen a few previous Sony models that have legs that can adjusted towards the centre, but those are international models which have diff configurations. They also don't clearly mention the measurements when they are adjustable.

  • Do you have personal attachment to the table or is it really expensive?

You don't want to be spending more on a TV just so it will fit on your existing table if you can get any TV (more suitable technology/size) + a new table (ikea for example) for the same price.

    • My rationale is I'll buy a $1kish Hisense if the legs can be adjusted (I've seen one assembled randomly with a leg towards the centre), but if that isn't an option - I'll probably bump my budget to 2k. It just so happens that anything in between that 1-2k budget (samsung, LG and Sony's) is going to be entry level, and not significantly different. So if I can determine if one of the few sub $1200 options has adjustable legs - that would be the only scenario where I save money.

Otherwise it makes sense to opt for a cheaper miniLED. That way the few hundred for a stand or mounting is instead going towards the tech.

      I appreciate the response, cheers.

There's a variety of universal table stands/mounts for TVs, perhaps one of them would suit so you don't have to compromise on the TV choice.

  • Some tvs like LG C3 come with center stand. You might have to visit an retailer and look for options.

    • The C3 is nice. I know it's unlikely, but if the 75 dropped to 2500 I would strongly consider it.

Why not use something like this https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/ezymount-universal-tv-tableto…

MiniLED will be awesome, until microLED comes along anyway.

That is only for 70", not 75"

Here's one for around $60 that should suit…

Thank you for this, I will greatly consider this as an option.

I got a similar one for a 50" TV… The height adjustment is an added bonus…

          • @jv: That actually will help me, because I'm trying to get this TV to be as close to the ceiling as possible without mounting. My table is already at over 100cm. So I can lay in bed watching tv without turning my neck upwards, like a corpse.

            • @perfectmachine:

I'm trying to get this TV to be as close to the ceiling as possible without mounting.

The higher you place it, the higher the centre of gravity will be and it will be less stable, so be careful with it if you have kids running around…

      • Yes, this was just an example of the kind of thing that exists. Wasn't going to research the exact one OP should buy.

        • Wasn't going to research the exact one OP should buy.

          Why not? Lazy ???

  • You can buy VESA table stands which are usually towards the centre than being right at the edge.

Samsung TVs also have a stand right in the middle by default, you could consider that if planning to buy a new tv

    • Thank you for your response, salesman did mention this as an option. I would consider it if I found a bargain on black Friday. I. E. a cheap hisense or tcl under $1k.

Otherwise, I'd rather spend my money on getting a better TV that also has middle stand.

  • Another "just get a bloody VESA stand" post here.

Seriously, this is the way to do it.

  • I don't want to be mounting to the wall because I rent, and the stand that I have happens to be the perfect height anyway. I also will be moving this TV in the next 2 years, so keeping it unmounted is also a little bit more convenient. So I'd rather put money towards the TV itself rather than mounting (albeit mounting is cheap).

Unfortunately nobody in store knows this, and I've gone through quite a few review videos which don't mention anything about assembly.

I've emailed Hisense twice, but haven't received a response. I will also email Sony and LG. Pretty sure the q70 is my only Samsung option.below 3k.

The high end Sony's normally have standard/narrow legs - X95L miniLED included, though it's about double the price of the Hisense

  • Update - Hisense replied to confirm that the legs for 75A7KAU can be adjusted to be closer, but frustratingly they didn't provide the actual measurement. This is now an option given its half the price of TCL and Hisense's mini LED.

    • VESA stands for TVs that size are available for less than $100. Buying a TV based mainly on what the factory-provided legs mount at seems a bit short sighted.

      • I have now opened up my options to Vesa centre-stands (but definitely not wall mounts). I thought they were more expensive because I was looking at Harvey Norman-esque inflated prices.

        • The simplest ones are just two bars of metal that go straight down from the mounting holes and turn into legs. You can figure out the spacing by looking up the mounting info of each TV model. I've never used one of those ones, I only use the more normal versions with a full size bracket mount.
