Got this for nostalgia.
I have opened 52 packs so far and still missing a kakuna, ninetales, alakazam, seadra, kabuto, aerodactyl, articuno, zapdos, dragonair, mewtwo, mew.
I did get 5 alt arts, also alts blastoise ex and charizard ex, 2 full arts and 2 gold cards, 14 holo energies.
i'm completing the set in japanese

yeah I got the Zard early on, so it's just a bit of fun when it's on sale. I am happy to wait til later when the hype dies down a bit.

yeah cant believe what people are paying for bulk. crazy. and they say this set will have at least 2nd batch soon. i wouldnt be surprised if there is a 3rd.

Big Pokémon fan since childhood and have never had the thought of rooster or dog fighting. Surely better than alternative fighting / gun games if you’re worried that it’s a “gateway” to something.

I got the alt art charizard in my first pack from the Binder Collection. Got an ETB and spent about $60 more on singles. Collected all 151 and all holo energy minus the alt art & promos.
Traded a whole bunch for the common and uncommons. Pretty great set to get back onto TCG.
Edit: I did get a bad streak of unlucky draws with Silver Tempest and Crown Zenith though so don't hate on me for getting the chase on my first pack. Or hate, I can't stop you

Thank you. It's my first complete set so I'm really happy with it. Collected since base, but stopped around Neo. Got back into tcg early September this year.
Probably won't be completing another set unless they do johto.

@Circly: I looked at the pull rates and the set before committing and knew it was going to be way too expensive to go for illustration rares and full art (magnitude of at least 10 like you said).
So I just stuck to the 001-165. Would be nice to collect a Master's set but I have too many hobbies.

Been so disappointed with this set, with the lack of booster boxes available it's been an expensive set with too much package filler from ETBs, posters and all the other unnecessary junk. Recently started collecting CZ instead since it's been so cheap.
compared to the normal people buying pokemon tcg a lot more people are buying this set for nostalgia unfortunately hence low stock. you can still get good prices with gift cards, etc for all the products and just sell the rest of the 'crap'.
Just wait for the second wave / till it dies down. or even better once people get over things like they do with everything these days buy a master set off someone for cheap in a years time or so.This current deal on the poster set is as cheap as the booster bundles were ($40 for 6 boosters).
Seems like this is the last chance to load up on packs.

So this works out to be roughly $1.50 per card,
I picked up from Kmart the Alakazam ex collection today for $40 it comes with 4 booster packs plus the promo cards x3 so $1.00 per card!

Makes more sense to calculate it per pack.
So alakazam is $10 per pack + 3 promo cards
This is $6.66 per pack + 3 promo cards + poster

I did click and collect from narellan.
2 out of 3 were cancelled.
When I went to pick that one up, they had a heap in the window on display…so i bought those too haha.best option is to check out your local stores in person.
Same value as booster bundle that you can't buy + promos + poster? A lot of extra waste too!
