The frozen smoky butter chicken and chicken tikka masala from Coco Earth is honestly pretty good. $10 for a 400g portion.
I tried recently on special for $7 and was really surprised. Would happily have again
My only complaint is that it induced me to trying cooking chicken tikka masala and butter chicken from scratch, which ended up being quite expensive, time consuming, and nowhere near as good.
I mean you'll get better at spice selection as you keep trying and realise once you buy the right spices (that last 1yr+ in the pantry) that you actually can cook better tikka/butter chicken which, over a few cooks, is much cheaper than this… however I will admit we buy this when it's really cheap eg. 50% off because it's definitely good enough for the effort required.
Same for frozen naan bread to be honest. Cheaper and a little better to home-cook for sure but those 50% specials make the cost low enough for it to be worth it for the effort difference alone.
I much prefer this:

although out of stock at Amazon at the moment. Usual price is $3 at Woolies/Amazon. You can get the non-hot version at $2.40 at the moment, but I have no personal experince with that one.
You have to make your own rice with this, but at the same price point of $3, I much prefer it over the Coco Earth curries.
Amazon AU price-matching Woolworths
Thai chicken curry is good. Tried from Woolies last time and was pleasantly surprised. Can't go wrong for $2.70
picked up the butter chicken last night from woolies to try. It would be ok for emergency rations in the pantry, but not much more than that.
Says dispatched in 1 - 2 months, anyone got it sooner?
Mine arrived today
Thanks
Ideal for a house party…….. it's a weird single serve of chicken curry.
I grabbed a couple from Colesworths for about the same price out of curiosity, but I'm a little frightened to use a plastic packet of chicken that can sit in a cupboard for 12+ months
