Got an email this morning about using beta version of Clash of Clans. Downloaded it onto my laptop and made 2 seperate purchases of $7.99 worth of gems that's 500 of them. So on the first purchase google is offering $8 off and on the second purchase they are offering $7.5 off. Both purchases are to be made in app and through your laptop or PC. Offers are already exist as a promo for beta games on PC.

i would say…..Pay to advance faster and not p2w as you could have max troops/heros/spells and still suck dog balls at attacking and do worse than someone with lower level troop/heros/spells

For me, 75% of the fun of games with premium currency and voluntary ads is grinding out a victory without using any premium currency or viewing any voluntary ads, despite how difficult the developers make doing so.
The problem with "____ of ____" games is that there is no victory condition, only power levels. They constantly shift the goalposts to keep whales spending money, and simultaneously give away last month's top tier items for free to everyone to drive the need to pay more to "stay on top". If you aren't a whale spending thousands per month, you will never be competitively viable.
You'll burn through this offer's premium currency in minutes and feel no appreciable difference in your power level.
Also, you don't really own the account (didn't one of the youTubers got banned for a week and he got fed up and moved on to something else?). There were (and probably are) BOT farming programs which can do farming for you. You get way more gold and whatever the other resources are. Even better than buying gems (unless you have a deep pocket and willing to spend hundreds of dollars). Years ago, those used to be free. There might still be free ones. I think later on, upgrades take 14 days unless you pay and buy some perks.
Not sure whether war matching is better now or not. Anyway, best not to play this game.
or just play the modded offline versions and enjoy that :)

I tried a mod version of PvZ 2 on a jailbroken iPhone. Played a few games for 10 minutes and that stopped me from wanting to play PvZ 2.
I ran one of the top guilds in a game called AFK Arena, while being entirely f2p.
Obviously the p2w guilds are miles ahead now, but its still fun knowing that for a while, we were beating them by a bit.

How long do you think it will take for someone like me who refuse to pay for the game and just play normally without lootboxes? I think buying stuff in the game to advance is unfair.
I mean it’s optional and doesn’t give you any real advantage. You’re almost always fairly matched with similar TH levels
You don't have to spend any money to advance in the game, gems are just for those who are too lazy/impatient to wait long upgrade timers.

Depends on what you are upgrading. I prefer 3 builder portions but some might prefer 2 book of heroes
Don't get hooked on this game because you will be wasting heaps of time building an account for Supercell.
Easier to just not play it in the first place.
